I'm really looking forward to details about the Caddy WEC program. Porsche has already said they will apply for grid spots at le mans with their IMSA cars, could Caddy do the same? Or will Ganassi be spread too thin with their Indycar commitments?

Ganassi will surely want to run both cars at Le Mans. And GM will want that too especially next year.

I'm sure I'd read or heard words to that effect from Laura Wontrop Klauser - but alas I can't find the quotes.
Like Mike E says it makes sense having that second car to get them up to speed. Not trying to wish my life away or anything, but from a sportscars perspective I'd really love it if we could fast forward to 2023. Le Mans, WEC, IMSA - everything will be about 300% more intriguing next season than what we have currently. |

Yep. This year, for me, is just about being back at Le Mans. Three years without a fix is a lot more than most addicts can stand!

This Le Mans should be one to watch too, with how competitive it has been in WEC so far. Will be worth the wait for a lot of fans too

Great news. No factory team though. Who is going to stump up the cash and who will run the cars?
Lots of talk of Iron Lynx jumping from Ferrari, and they do have customers but would they want to do LMDh instead of GT? Other big teams capable of doing it would be the likes of WRT, United Autosports, Jota... https://sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/...-first-season/ |

Great news LMDh is really taking off.
We still need to find out what is going on with the Audi program.... |

I am going to assume that 'the engine is expected to be a Lamborghini unit' means it will be a 5.2 litre V10, because that makes me happy.

Prema/Iron Lynx would be really interesting. Plus points for them is that are used to running multiple cars in multiple countries I guess and the merger has only reinforced that. Also they have an absolute conveyor belt of young talent on their books, male and female, often courtesy of F1 feeder programmes. I guess relative lack of IMSA/NA experience is one thing that counts against them. So you'd imagine a 2023 IMSA season in P2 would be in the offing, similar to what Penske have done this year to WECify themselves. It would be a big miss for WRT given they had the keys to Audi, if they have lost out on the next VAG brand. |

I don't think they would had greenlighted the lmdh program without having already at least of couple of teams confirming their entries for 2024.

the super trofeo engine is already in the 640hp range, they could upgrade it to make it more robut for endurance trim. Fuel efficiency aside, the biggest issue would be however the packaging of a longer V10 but the extra length of lmdh could help somehow. |

Maybe Prema can be tempted away from Ferrari with a better offer/deal

I know this is somewhat off-base given they have no experience with prototypes (yet), but could Grasser be in with a shout?
It does sound like whichever Italian team end up not being Ferrari's top dog will end up here to lick their wounds though. Not that I'm complaining about adding spice to an already-feisty rivalry. |
