So how do you rate yesterday's race? Myself I'd give it a C- maybe. There were very few interesting things happening and the race was extremely messy with way too many crashes, incidents and yellows. I guess the best summary of what was happening was during the penultimate yellow when race control rushed with the procedures to go back to green asap but there was another yellow shortly after the restart anyway Compared to Belle Isle, it's a major downgrade.

Richard Westbrook (Porsche 963 #85): “It’s hard for me to come up with anything positive. To be honest, the track is not suitable for racing with prototypes in the top GTP class. It was like being in a bumper car. The damage to the vehicles worsened lap by lap. It was unacceptable – simply unacceptable. I found it frustrating. I have such fond memories of the times we competed on the beautiful Belle Isle in Detroit. I’m looking forward to Watkins Glen – now that’s a great circuit.”

Well said... I totally understand why Detroit is in the calendar due to commercial side of things but racing wasn't too good.

I thought it was alright. Considering the nature of the track there were some super moves.

IMSA did their best to keep things going. Leaving cars and debris all over the track. To keep it going. I wasn’t that enamored with that.

The track has its challenges. And the pit lane makes me smile!

It’s a quickie 100 minute affair, which is right here. If all tracks were like this it would be silly.

Indeed, I thought it was on 30th but it's actually on 23rd.

Crazy, isn't it? Just the ONE week (actually, less if you count today's practice) after Le Mans.

Porsche was quickest in a very close FP1, whilst the #8 Tower P2 car crashed...twice, with two different drivers. Apparently the last one was slightly bigger than the first.

Porsche was very good here last year. It's no surprise. The 963 likes smooth tracks with medium and high speed corners. They similarly overperformed in places like Fuji, Qatar, and Indy road course for this reason.

Good first day at the Glen for this first time visitor. Very hot, lack of fences in many areas, decent audible PA.
Are track limits not a thing at Turn 1 ?
Mustang Challenge promised much but almost all under SC.

Track limits are almost never a thing in IMSA, it usually isn't possible to overstep.

The Lambo race appears to have a bit of moisture, spin from one guy and got stuck, yellow for him caught a guy out on the curb and slow spin right in to the stopped car, minimal damage thankfully

Always forget how crazy big the fields are for Super Trofeo

Video caught a camper doing a hot pit stop swapping from an empty propane bottle with food on the grill
