Ok, I've returned (password trouble). Anyway, some main comments. In some ways, I definitely prefer Mandretti's edit. Yes, it is rather simple, but it just seemed to flow really well and the overall look of the layout is somehow strangely attractive to me.

Second, if you use that more flowing turn 2, I would leave the rest as it is.

If you use the more kink like turn 2, the front straight should be made longer, but leave turn 1 alone. It is now about 700 metres. With that more clearly defined turn 2, I think the front straight should be around 800 metres. It helps emphasize the straight without adding a great deal of length, and I feel it improves the overall appearance of the circuit. It makes turn 1 a somewhat more significant braking zone, for overtaking. It could make turn 2 more challenging. The extended run would also hopefully make turn 4 a more viable overtaking spot.

Just my observations though, and overal, it looks pretty good.

P, Lustig, both great edits. I think i prefer Lustigs though, as he kept the esses .

I like P's alternative, though I'm not too fond of the longer, more sweeping third corner.

Me neither Lustig, and i think P's version lacks some esses. Those esses after T4 really need to be there. Theyre the only proper esses on the track.

Well, I just thought you could overtake more easily into T4 if it was like that.
I'm not really bothered either way.

My edit was just inspired by a couple of your club circuit links actually...

That's true, P: overtaking should be easier with your sweeping turn 3.

Yeah.

We could keep that T3. I still prefer Lustigs infield though.

well thats why i originally made it curved to help overtaking but i think part of it with a turn and part sweeping works better as we get the best of both worlds.

I didn't think the straight with the club pitlane was long enough to allow overtaking.
My other idea was simply to remove turn 16 of Lustig's version.

Or you could make the two corners leading onto the club straight to just one?

Or alternatively move the corner at the end of the club straight a tad more to the left, if necessary moving the 4th to last corner a bit too?`

I do think sacrificing the esses is a bit too much just for the sake of an overtaking spot .

I thought they looked a bit tacked on actually. They didn't really fit in. And the section following them is awful...

Heh. Yeah, you're "mr. MyTracks" if any .

I think they fit in nicely . And they have to be there. They're the only real esses on the track .

Honestly, having the straighter approach into turn 4 probably better facilitates overtaking, so I think I'll keep my vote with FW's version.

Pirenzo, your last two edits are too angular from what I can see, and don't seem to have the right flow compared to the rest of the course.

Yea, i liked the other one better.

I still prefer Lustigs last version, though with pirenzos T3.

Though, if the esses could be included in pirenzos first version, that'd be perfect . I dont know where they should be though...

Is it just me, or does it seem like everyone has gone on holiday this weekend?

Well, so far, FW gets my vote for the best layout, though I do like Freak's simple yet effective short-cuts. The one thing I would do is switch out FW's pit lane for the one in Pirenzo's last edit.

It seems that way, indeed, Purist. Funny how that goes, isn't it? Last couple of days one couldn't keep up with the number of posts... and now hardly anyone has posted since friday.

Maybe I'll have a go at finalising our My Tracks Raceway III.
