Any word on the 2006 Schedule?
We know that the Tourist Trophy will be back on May 7th.. Spa 24 Hours would be at the end of July again? Is there any other confirmed races? I dont think we will see much change, even though the Series is splitting from the WTCC... I am just still hoping that they will be able to hold a race in America sooner or later! |

Sportscar racing's attributes, most notably high amounts of lapped traffic, just don't fit the vast majority of current and proposed street-circuits. |

Surely you have just made my point for me - Two good and two bad.
My point is that you shouldn't jump to the 'bad' conclusion without having even seen the circuit layout. There have undoubtedly been some stinkers but it doesn't mean the entire concept is fatally flawed. |

The Spanish GT series had two races on a street circuit this year and by all accounts they were a roaring success!

Did anyone notice that Istanbul is missing? Why is that?
Also there is not even one joint event with the WTCC now. Both are racing in Brno but they are racing on consecutive weekends instead of together... |

-basically the exact same thing cybersdorf said, I stated that there have been a few exceptions but the failure rate is definitely higher amongst street circuits (and this isn't true just for sportscars either, just take a look at some of CCWS's recent street course escapades). |

Not to drag this out but I am merely pointing out that my original response was to your original statement above which didn't talk about higher probability of failure or a few exceptions but merely said it doesn't work.
I'm not trying to stir the pot here just explaining that my response was a legitimate observation |

Anyone else thing the proposed layout at Bucharest looks a little 'mickey-mouse'? It is a beautiful place to run a race though, the architecture of the palace the track runs around is fantastic!
