Is Huertas confirmed at Coyne yet? I missed that announcement.
Looks like they might make 33 after all. Not that it would really matter if there were fewer - 2012 might as well have been a 31 car field as the Lotuses were ordered to park it after 5 laps, and that was still a decent race (ignoring the rather frightening Conway incident). |

What matters more is the depth of the field.
Dixon, Briscoe, Kanaan, Castroneves, Wilson, Power, Hunter-Reay, Pagenaud, Bourdais. Andretti, Rahal, Hinchcliffe, Newgarden, Muñoz, Hildebrand, Hawksworth, Karam. Montoya, Villeneuve, Kurt Busch, Ed Carpenter, Buddy Lazier, T Bell, Serviá, Tagliani, Sato. It's amazing! |

I think it speaks for the 'meh that was enough for me' attitude of certain mr Barrichello that che hasn't at least attempted to pull one-off appearances at the 500 since his switch to Brazilian stock cars. While his year in ICS was definitely unspectacular, he didn't actually do too bad at Indy
Anyway this year's grid is looking great, can't wait for qualis. |

Barrichello is comfortably racing in Brazil, just like Meira and many others. Going back to Indianapolis is tough and expensive.

Running the 500 is expensive. With that budget he can do many international endurance races, or a full season in Brazil.
