Oulton Park Track Day
May I just take this opportunity to say a big "Thank-You," Dr. Jonathan Palmer and everyone else concerned regards to this amazing day out. My son, Andrew and myself had a Fantastic day.
Straight in at the deep end. Four laps with the Awsome Mike Newton in the Ford Falcon, WOW! How will I ever forget that Mike? The Wife keeps telling me to shut-up going on about it ! Then, Three laps with the Amazing Tommy Erdos in the BMW. How do you learn to drive around Shell and Druids like that? And, any chance of picking the wife up from shopping in that car next time? After lunch, and just as well, the Ferrari 360 Modena with the unbelieveable Alan Newton. An experience I will never forget, and, in the wet too! Underpants and washing machine, spring to mind ! A special thanks to all the other drivers who made this special day. With thoughts about should Marshal's be paid? Well, let me tell you, days like this, money cannot buy. Just keep turning-up and supporting these guys who race. Everyone has dreams and ambitions? Well, on Tues. I marked one off my list. Many Thanks once again for a Fantastic day out at Oulton Park. |

well what a day, and how iam paying for it now, didnt do to much walking around but now i am firmly back on crutches struggling to get anywere but it was worth it.
i learnt a few things from this, mr2 tubs are actually quite quick, mx5's are better in the soaking wet than they are in the dry, getting the belts on in a catheram is so bloody hard(nod nod wink wink fazza) and a ferrari 360 race car in the wet is the most stunning thing ever!!!! a huge thanks to all involved from me and my dad (up untill wednesday he had never been anything resembling a race car and never been round oulton despite taking me there for nearly every weekend for 20 years) i think i was chatting to ian about his bmw at one point and big jim, i did find out who you were but you looked v busy at the time so i left you to it. i will def be sending an e-mail to mr palmer and also a huge thanks to ste green for the organising, it is very appreciated! |

Young Mr Fazza seems to have enjoyed his day as a rally marshal on the Cambrian, judging by his new fondness for loose surfaces! Mind you his MR2 was trashing quiet a lot of hairdresser pre-conceptions, it was the only "road" car to go past me all day apart from the on-a-mission-Newnes! |

I have DE- powdered the osprey and all is well!
She runs fine! so we will make sure every eventuality is covered for next year and perhaps we keep Ian and Tommy(the barbecueing brazillian) away from it untill a few more of you have had a go! |

I think for safety reasons we will have to ban Ian from the Osprey for life. It is only fair on everybody else.

1. Large fire in the cockpit-abandon ship!! 2 Two large spins in the Skyline followed by larger one resulting in the car being buried to the axles at Druids. £40 donation to Rotary International (not the RX8 type) You will all be pleased to know I have been banned from next years event. |
