Ironic about all this contact stuff when they fill every highlight reel with the crashes and contacts.
Also, is it just me or is the pit exit and entrance (solid concrete barrier someone could get turned into side on) rather dangerous here? |

Agreed Evantra, the BTCC has built its brand on contact and big accidents. Feels really hypocritical that they're now moaning about poor driving standards.

Crucial win for Colin and it gives WSR their 100th win. I was there for their first win at Silverstone in 98 with Will Hoy

More penalties for Butcher, crowding Moffat in to turn 1?

Team BMW have appealed the penalty against Rory Butcher, saying that there should of been penalty points applied along with the verbal warning.
The Stewards have disagreed with Team BMW and so the verbal warning with no penalty points stands. https://www.barc.net/wp-content/uplo...08/KN-SD-2.pdf |

Tom Oliphant has been given a verbal warning for gaining an unfair advantage in Race 2.
https://www.barc.net/wp-content/uplo...ant-Race-2.pdf In other news Mini driver Neil Trotter has been disqualified from the meeting for "abusive language or behaviour or physical assault or threat of physical assault" in an incident in parc ferme. |

After all the talk about driving standards recently, I thought they were excellent this weekend. Shedden got a lot of stick for his driving at Brands Hatch, but multiple times today he could have pushed drivers out the way to pass them but didn't. Obviously a few iffy moments from some, but generally the driving was good today.
Interesting that the three winners were exactly the same as at Snetterton, and the way each race was won was also very similar. Excellent weekends from Proctor and Smiley, with two podiums from Proctor and Smiley deserving one too. Both have made a big step up since last year, as has Aiden Moffat. I was also very impressed with Jason Plato in the third race, keeping up with Jelley in an obviously slower car, and then keeping it clean when he was shuffled backwards. And it was a shame that the top nine were reversed for race three, rather than the top ten, because then my pre-season prediction of Carl Boardley winning race three at Knockhill could have come true! That is three reversed-grid poles for Stephen Jelley in five races this year, ridiculously good luck not seen since Sam Tordoff in 2016. Butt he deserves some good luck after having famously awful luck in the last four years since his return to the championship. |

Doesn't surprise me. I have relatives who live near his estate and they've had multiple arguments with him about giving way on the narrow country roads.

Steve King was also disqualified and had his licence endorsed for a similar unrelated incident post race.

Knockhill rounds 13,14 & 15 2021
Nice to see cleaner racing in the BTCC compared to Oulton
Rare mistake by Colin in R2 at the end. Still he’s managed to get himself back in the title fight. Tingram’s win in R3 keeps the pressure on Sutton too. Sutton is still looking good though, but as we saw at Oulton, it can swing the other way. Shedden too also gained some much needed points Jelley certainly seems to be getting the grips with BMW. Hill looked good till his off in R3, was the brake fire cause or effect? Good to see Boardley having a good meeting and shame Chilton went off in R2 when he was looking good. And Smiley looked good too. And well done Butel for getting a career best 14th! |

Another enjoyable weekend of racing. I agree it's great to see Turks and Tingram back in the title fight. It was clear from Colin's smiles after the second race how relieved he must be to be back on the podium, even with that little mistake. He did well to get straight out of the gravel in time to hang on to second, I thought. I'd have liked to have seen what happened for him to get passed by Moffat and Boardley in race 3 though. I'm really impressed by Moffat's progress this year, by the way.
Ash's driving was great again but I think compared to previous years (with the Levorg particularly) he's also really benefiting from increased reliability and consistent performance from his car, though we're only halfway through the season so I hope that analysis isn't too premature! I really had to feel for JP getting second on the reverse grid but then losing all those places. He was looking so strong at Thruxton this year. He really doesn't seem to have had much luck since 2015. Rowbottom I also hoped to see a bit higher up this time out. |

Thanks for that, didn’t think it was Hill’s fault, seemed too strange a mistake to make, especially from a driver of his calibre |

You can tell how much cleaner the racing was by the lack of comments on here!
Smiley seemed to be really happy in the car this weekend, I was impressed at his progress in R3. |
