Although I wasn't involved in that particular Parc Ferme "Countdown" thread, my impression is that it was closed because it had become a three way conversation between the thread originator and a couple of friends, and that it had very little - if any - chance of opening up; I doubt other PF members would have had a clue what was going on, let alone the inclination to join in.
Admittedly it's not exactly the biggest crime you can commit, but we don't like "private" threads that contain in-jokes understood by only a few people. There is a Private Message facility and a chatroom available for that kind of thing. However, please don't be put off Parc Ferme! We're more than happy to attract members who perhaps normally stay within one or two of the motorsport forums (fora?). Have a look around the other threads, and join in! It's also worth mentioning that Parc Ferme is the off-topic forum. One of the reasons it exists is to prevent the motorsport forums being clogged up with off-topic stuff. And you'll find that guideline is applied throughout ten tenths, not just the CART/IRL forums. So that's another reason to venture out - you'll find some of us aren't "anti-fun" after all! |

Ten Tenths Champcar forum was a great clubhouse atmosphere when I arrived, but it's really de-generated into a sea of negativity and a boys club. Some of the iron fist activity in this thread just reenforces those beliefs to me. I still come here to participate but it's not my #1 forum anymore for those reasons. If the plug gets pulled, well, it's not like there isn't another forum down the street.

I've seen a few posts like that now, Snout.
Funny thing is, through this whole time I've been kinda expecting some of the senior members to perhaps PM me with some constructive suggestions. Care to guess how many I've received? That's right... not one. What does that tell ya? All I have to look forward to is the negativity being added to this thread. At the risk of being labelled yet again, I'm gonna close this thread. Feel free to start a critical thread in the Feedback forum, but this thread wasn't intended for that. Or, if you don't want to start that new thread, send me a PM. |
