MSV don't tend to release the entry list until the Friday before the event.

Just looked on the Britcar website provisional production entry up. Looks quite decent. www. Britcar24hr.co.uk

I see Mark Lemmer and Mr Jordan Snr on the list - shows promise.

Mike Jordan is actually in contention for the championship. Mark Lemmer is not a regular so obviously guesting. He is running the MP Motorsport Aston so hopefully we will see it in the GT races.

I have to give this race a miss, annoyingly. I just hope for my sake that the term 'Open GT' doesn't attract the kind of cars I have always wanted to see belting around a race circuit. Though that seems highly unlikely considering I mean old GT1's like the Lister Storm, Dodge/Chrysler Viper GTS-R, Corvette C5.R and Ferrari 550. I know Britcar wouldn't let them in!

Anyway, is there any interest for a season review write-up? If so I am more than willing.

That would be good Adam. How many races did you manage to attend? Apart from the 24hrs I only got to see the Brands races this year annoyingly because I like to get to at least one other circuit each year.
As for your wish list I think sadly it will stay that way. Not expecting much of an entry. Nothing to race for and most cars are probably in bits this time of year.

Yes I know my little dreams will never happen! I agree there may be very little meat to the entry for the race.

This season I attended the Silverstone season opener, the Brands Hatch GP race and then Both Snetterton and the 24HR working alongside their Press Officer Steve Wood. I was in the commentary box for the Snetterton race (I spotted several pieces of action Steve and the commentator didn't pick up on) and in the Media Centre for Silverstone. Though I spent a large amount of time in the pits on both occasions.

As for the races I didn't attend I will dig up the appropriate Autosport's to get a rough baseline and then maybe look at TSL Timing and Steve's reports to pick up on the additional. Not that I will be copy and pasting; I hate the thought of doing that.

I will see what I can do. I'll try and make a start this weekend.

Having read the report you did earlier in the season I look forward to another high quality report from you.
I assume that as you have been up in the commentary box you have had the pleasure of meeting Brian Jones. This man will always be a legend to me. I grew up listening to his commentaries as he was the voice of brands throughout the 80's when I was a lad.

Adam,

your reports are great mate so yes please! Keeps me up to date when i cant attend.

And rest assured, as i am attending the night race i can guess that there wont be any GT1s, 550s etc!

Thanks for the comments guys!

Stuart; oddly enough he didn't attend the weekend I was in the commentary box but I did get to meet him at the 24HR. He came up to the Media Centre every now and then and he was a very interesting character.

It's been a great year for me actually. I've got to meet Tony Jardine, Lawrence Tomlinson, Jonathan Palmer, Brian and Steve, Ten Tenths' very own John Smith and Claire Smith among many others. I've met many interesting characters and have become a known face at Brands Hatch!

Snowen/Simon; Thanks to you also! I am also under no illusions about my GT1 fantasy!

GT entry now on Britcar website 10 cars inc. 2x FF corse 458s Kevin Clarke interestingly in a Mosler(perhaps the one Dave Shelton had for sale).
2x Topcats Marcos, the Optimum Ginetta G55 and David Fairbairns 993 RSR.
Jensen Lunns Chevron GR8 and Andy Schulz's 458.
So a small but quality grid.

I think the Mosler is Paul Whites old car.

Looks like only 9 cars to me. And a lot of TBA's. Sometimes Britcar entry lists can be a bit unreliable....though the same is true for all GT lists i've found!

Still though if all those arrive it should still be a close run thing. And the production line up is very healthy.

They might be eligible, I believe they are, but they've never really been regulars in Britcar racing.

As long as they have a production based engine. Up to LMP2 spec but will be heavily restricted.

I guess i was hoping for a sportslibre race almost, but oh well!

The plethora of Ferraris plus the Mosler will suffice.

Does anyone know what spec the 993 is? Is it a proper 90s GT2 car?

It's been with that team for over a decade...

If you look in the very good Racing Sports Cars website and find the 2002 British GT race at Silverstone; that car is the No.15.

So it used to be a GT2 but was converted to RSR spec then.

Thanks guys, that site is great i know.

Wish some other cars from that race were still out racing too! Especially the Saleens and the Stealth.
