Yeah pretty an underwhelming squad, if they really mean business they should've invested in at least one top driver. Wonder why Marvin Kirchhöfer is not part of the squad, he himself said in the past he'd love to do DTM with McLaren.
No disrespect but Clemens Schmid hasn't been particularly a top driver while Ben Dörr has a steep learning curve ahead. Now, with 20 cars confirmed can we expect any more news? Honestly, don't think so, haven't heard of any possible teams. The grid looks very strong in terms of quality but it'd do with 4 more cars. Shame Porsche will not be represented by more teams. |

Yes, with Comtoyou, you're right. But not sure how likely this is, probably not very.

The upside of a 20-22 car grid is less motorway style queues on track, a bit more freedom to move.
GTWC Sprint has often proved how 28+ car grids dont always make for the best racing |

Not surprised with that. Looks like 20 cars on the grid then. Still should be quite an interesting season.

DTM had 18 entries in 2017 and 2018, so this is nothing unusual.

But at least then the cars were more spectacular - you could get away with it a bit more with the class 1 cars. A small grid of GT3 cars doesn't have the same impact.

This weekend you can only view it on the Viaplay/Premier Sports streaming service. God knows whats happening with that since Viaplay have left and Premier sport have come back but Viaplay is moving to Amazon Prime in May...?

Wow, incredible job by the ABT team on Fellers stop, he gained so much time.
Brilliant work by the officials. Dorrs car was parked for one lap with the wheel rolling down the track.... They put the FCY out 2 seconds after Wittmann enters the pits.... You arent supposed to be allowed to pit under the FCY. Now he has a HUGE lead out of nowhere and a decent race between Aitken and Feller for the lead is over. I dont really know why they delayed the FCY that long, Wittmann was following the Mclaren when its wheel fell off so it was a whole lap they waited even though the wheel was on the track.. EDIT: They put the SC out to close the gap but Wittmann still has the lead... Last edited by v8supes; 27 Apr 2024 at 12:26. |

Karma is a *****. They clearly tried to manipulate the SC to help Wittmann but mechanical gods had other plan in mind

What a dramatic race. Feel very sorry for Wittmann. Yes, Aitken deserves the win and was probably the best driver but strategy is part of the sport and Schubert did well to put Wittmann in the spot he found himself in. And looked like win was his. Pretty heartbreaking but yeah, probably Aitken is 'the most deserving' winner of this race.
Good start to the season. |

Horrible, wonder if it's the BOP or something else but it's a completely different picture to last year. Might be an extremely tough title defense season for Preining...

Fantastic result for young Luca Engstler. He withstood the pressure from Engel brilliantly, I expected Maro to win this 'easily'. Very happy for Engstler, great race.

Looks like Manthey aren't optimistic about being near the front at Lausitzring or Porsche's chances at the Spa 24H.

It was very kind of them to put Lausitzring on this weekend. For me a forgettable circuit which produces forgettable races. Will not feel so bad missing this one.

Heavy Rain came down 5 minutes into race 1, obviously because teams can only pit 1 car at a time those who had to wait an extra lap on slick tyres ended up at the back/off the track.
