I know it's been on/off wet so maybe the results isn't totally representative but what happened to Andy Neate and John George, neither have been particularly quick all day. There's no way a WSR car should a be second a lap slower than Johnson's Astra.

Collard's hardly excelled either. It's going to be a difficult year for WSR.

Regardless of any problems Neate or George have suffered, worth congratulating AmD on a very respectable effort. Ran plenty of laps and not disgraced at all.

Sigh.
I miss Turkington. Can't believe he couldn't secure funding, and then Gio manages to waltz back in. Still, the Italian has the reputation, so its only fair in that respect. |

Dissapointed in Aon, but they should be contenders all year.
Have to say that I wasn't expecting Andrew Jordan to be quick right out of the box in the new team. Hope he does well. |

Giovanardi under lining his talent, be good to see him win at least one race to secure him for the season.
Suprised Shedden took pole, he looked pretty heavy to me with all those stickers on his car..its more a case of who's names not on it, must have crashed through a sign shop, clean sponsership lines not the order of the day at Dynamics who produced arguably the best livery last year. WSR look pretty bad which won't help the cause to sponsers...Collard may be looking in envy at Motorbase very soon. |

The one miss is Turkington. Obviously it is extremely disappointing that the reigning champion isn't taking part this season. However, there are still a number of good drivers around, so I don't think the loss of Jones, Jelley and Adam is going to spoil the fun too much. Nice to see a few newcomers as well, as always.

I'm surprised at Shedden and Giovanardi on the front row, it doesn't look like the Plato dominance some of us feared will happen. I miss Turkington too, hope someone will fund him from the second round, and I think it's a real shame we've lost Adam Jones, he was a really quick driver who always seemed close to getting a great result.

would have been good to see adam Jones in a front running car, shame he is not there, same for Turkington (did he get offered any drives without having to bring money?).

Now Turkington has missed the first round I don't think you'll see him in the BTCC this season. More likely to the European leg of the WTCC.

being there today the cars to watch imo are the Focus and the 2 Civics, they were hugely quick today and you could just tell that the Civic is a much more sorted car than it has ever been.
Also i had 2 moments today that made me shut my eyes which was Shaun Hollamby spinning twice at the complex, both times under braking it seemed the back of the car just came round on him. Golf looks so good though and sounds awesome |

You would have to add Thompson to that list as well, great shame he is not in it again after some outstanding drives last year. |

There's www.uniqmotorsport.com too, which is the website I discovered yesterday when trying to find out who the hell they were
Interesting that they seem to be an American company, so a strange choice to sponsor Triple Eight, unless I missing something obvious of course. |

Thruxton is a circuit that suits the Vectra... and in the hands of touring car legend Gio, we shouldn't be surprised he's on pole. Plato and Turkington are really the only others I'd rate capable of taking it to Gio. That The Turk managed to [barely] eclipse him last year demonstrates that Colin is a world class talent and I do hope [for our sakes] he dips into his pocket and gets out in the BTCC or WTCC. Still, once Plato's familiar with the Cruze, I expect him to be a helluva a challenge to Gio... or in the event this is a one off for Gio... dominant this year.
