Perrodo and AF Corse back to LMP2 in the WEC and ELMS next season - https://www.endurance-info.com/auto/...-corse-en-lmp2
He'd be right towards the top of my list for privateer entrants looking to LMDh in the next few years. Certainly has the cash for it. |

Anthony Davidson doesn't plan to be back with Jota--or any other team--next season. He announced this morning that next week's race in Bahrain is planned to be his last as a full time professional driver.

That is sad..he s been a real monster in Peugeot and Toyota, driving like the devil itself during the night at LM. Wish him all the best!

i think the p2 driver market in general is going to be even more competitive for the quick ones. there's a LOT of gold drivers sniffing around looking for short deals with not a lot of budget to put themselves in a good position for the hypercar market to kick off in '23. wrt might be the obvious shout but they're really expensive. |

Agreed. For some reason I'd feel better about an LMP1 running in the hypercar class if there was more than one of them!

"Factory" cars had the AER 2.4 V6 in them. Dragonspeed's car had the Gibson 4.5 V8.

It would be useful to have both P1s running the Gibson as well, for BoP purposes. Let's hope.

It appears that more people have asked for entries into the WEC next season than there are spots for. It is believed that 34 is the max due to the size of the pitlane at Fuji. It is an interesting question to think about in the future, if the hypercar class delivers the entries as promised there could be 10-16 cars by 2024. That doesn't leave that much room for the other classes. They have suggested that the gt cars will be pro am only starting in 2024. So if the max stays around 34 lmp2 and gt3 could be capped around 10 cars. Each class currently has more than that.

Could Toyota pay to expand Fuji's pit road? After all, the ACO are trying to push for 70 or so cars at LM in a few years. If one track is the reason for the entry cap, could Fuji get replaced by Suzuka (depending on pit space there) if their pit road can't be expanded?

Seems unlikely Suzuka would replace Fuji while Toyota is involved.
Toyota owns Fuji, Honda owns Suzuka. |

The SRO/ACO tie up is quite clever in offering a Le Mans start to winners of the SRO series. WEC could be oversubscribed because of the wide availability of GT3 cars and teams so offering another route to LM for a couple of those cars, outside of the ACO series, makes sense.

it’s very clever - the shipping dates for alms and the uncertainty in seafreight atm kind of rule out anybody trying to do wec as well, unless they’ve got spare cars and kit or loadsa money to airfreight. worth a punt if you want a lm24 entry and you’re doing elms but otherwise it’s not worth the gamble. bringing in another market is a smart idea in that context.
wonder who made the first phone call, ratel or the aco! |

ACO has made some nice things with IMSA with the LMDh. This is a nice move with SRO for the GT3. As Ratel said, looks where we were 20 years ago and where we are heading. Endurance racing seems to be on the right track
