This has already been discussed. The V8 engine will be updated from last season but basically the same unit. Not the works Toyota engine, why would they get that?

Because they've got an engine deal with Toyota? Wouldn't you (if you were Toyota) wanting your customers to represent you as best they can?

You just said it, they have an engine deal- that deal is with the RV8KLM engine.

Then again, is the TS030's engine optimized to run with its hybrid system? It would probably be a bit complicated to optimize an entirely new/unproven engine in a car when they already have a perfectly strong package already. After all, Rebellion isn't exactly doing a bad job of flying the TMG colors either...

Nice, I like it! Looks better than the F1 livery surely. Actually seems 'gold'.

I've nothing against this set of colours but... will we see any cars this year that aren't in Gulf or JPS colours?

Let me go against the grain and say NO. It may look good but I don't want to see another Lotus livery on a racing car that most definitely is NOT a Lotus.

I'm with you on that, not only the fact that I liked the original livery, but I'm kinda getting sick of Lotus doing this rebadging nonsense...

Most definitely, especially since Rebellion is a team who has achieved their level of success under their own efforts, even when they were still Sebah they were strong contenders...it's dissatisfying to see Lotus trying to steal the limelight like this.

Oh, I agree with you. I like the car, the livery is a pointless change, would much prefer them to continue with their own unique scheme (if they wanted a Lotus deal they could have said it was Gold Leaf-esque...)

Despite all the ongoing issues it seems the Lotus colours remain on the new spec Lola.
It's broken cover today in testing: https://twitter.com/#!/NickHeidfeld/.../photo/1/large |
