We didn't swap paint, nor did we rub doorhandles and we certainly never tapped the car in front to destabilise our fellow drivers. Possibly because in the main we respected each other, and would always help our fellow competitors if they were in need.

Furthermore, you only need to look at some of the photos of club meetings from back then that clearly demonstrate that huge crowds would attend even the smallest club meetings to watch guys and gals racing each other, almost always without any contact whatsoever.
I can remember Anthony Reid after a particularly, shall we say, physical race in (I think it was) 2000 saying "I really enjoyed that." As I say, contact comes with the territory and is what makes Touring Cars what it is for me.

Except if you read the rule books for this type of motor racing and you will find that the regulations state that it is a non-contact sport. You may well enjoy the sight of them biffing each other, but it is supposedly against the rules.

Great session. Well done Procotor on getting his first pole. Shedden alongside him on the front row, just hope he keeps his nose clean this time. Good to see Butcher and Rowbo up there too

Nice to see Osborne and Smelt a bit further up than they have been. Really bad session for Tingram though, let's see if he can salvage anything today

nothing saying you can’t take a break now and nothing saying you have to either. it’s people’s personal choice what they do within the scope of the rules and according to their personal risk assessment.

some of us still need to stay negative, others can risk a positive test and illness. it’s his choice.

hope he’s back to full fitness soon.

hard to defend plato there. not convinced about parfitt - don’t think he’s looking to the exit of the corner as early as most whilst he’s still building confidence in the car, so he’ll have had less time to react on that basis alone.

championshipwise a golden oportunity for Shedden and Rowbo to close the gap as Sutton, Tingram and Turks scoring very poorly or not at all

and Morgan totally outshones WSR again

Disagree. He's been racing long enough to know where to look. Car type is irrelevant.

Yeah, see how far Smelt managed to get on the grass out the way, looked like Parfitt had plenty of time.

Nicely done by Rowbo. Didn't look easy to hold Shedden off.

I wouldn't say finishing 3 places down on where you qualified is lucky.

Great win for Dan Rowbottom there, thoroughly deserved. With Sutton, Ingram, Cook, Turkington and Oliphant all taking few points, that could fire Rowbo and Shedden into title contention! Great drive also from Adam Morgan.

Race two will be absolutely fantastic with Sutton, Ingram, Cook and Turkington with no weight onboard, carving their way through the pack. The Hondas will likely hold on for another 1-2, which will really put them in title contention.
