Hugely enjoyable!
Man though, can things get any worse for Checo? Last edited by Aysedasi; 7 Jul 2024 at 17:04. |

Well that was a real race, plenty of action plenty of changes in lead and as far as i can recalled apart from the early hass leaving the track which was accepted the stewards had nothing to do. That is how all F1 races should be. Never been a Lewis fan but he proved today just how good he can be, pity next year he will be in a midfield car

Lando really needs some counselling - sure having tasted victory anything less is a disappointment, but he really shouldn't be that hard on himself for a 3rd spot....
Overall a great race. |

Great race, again I thought DRS was totally unnecessary.

DRS was disabled at one point and that's when the best overtakes happened. Last edited by bjohnsonsmith; 7 Jul 2024 at 19:05. |

Great race. One of the best I've seen for a long time. Lots of skill shown by most drivers and good to see Lewis win again. I've never been a great Lewis fan but he really deserved that one.

On reflection, Lewis's victory at Silverstone, was the perfect end to the Lewis Hamilton/Mercedes era and what an amazing era it has been.

Since nobody else has mentioned it,I was impressed by Hulkenberg's result. It justifies Sauber signing him and the improvement in the Haas car must give hope to Oliver Bearman and anybody who might be wavering about signing a Haas contract for next year.

Just to put some flesh on this from the past, from memory the ban was introduced as one of the cost cutting measures that were introduced over the years some time before they brought in the cost cap. Again from memory, the team's weather spotting had gone had gone to some extreme measures, with some even hiring helicopters to circle miles away from the circuits to provide constant updates on approaching weather fronts. |

Mr Hamilton is absolutely enjoying the win..!
From videos on the MercAMG pages, and loads of fans. Crowd surfing and being absolutely genuine about how much the win means to him. The passion is absolutely alive..! I hope the mainstream media picks at least some of this up.. you just can’t buy this level of excitement and fulfilment.. I hope Mercedes has lifted to that level of consistency and confidence… for the rest of the season & beyond |

Thinking about it, when was the last time Verstappen didn't lead a single lap of a GP?

We’ve had some great races this year. Not expecting them all to be for the rest of the season, but we’ve had enough to remember for years to come

I'm sure Horner mentioned spotters at some point on Ch4...

I would imagine that Hamilton will be hoping to inherit Sainz's strategy team at Ferrari for next season and not LeClerc's.

I'm not convinced it is only an issue of the team behind the driver, I see Carlos as a significantly better driver/strategist than Charles whose naivety seems to be on show more and more often these days.

Here's a theoretical question for you. Mechanical breakdowns aside. Based on pure pace, if it stayed dry for the whole race, would we have seen a British 1-2-3?

I doubt it. I think Max would have been somewhere in the top 3. Probably 2nd.
