Collard has just given the 997 it's first win (not counting Spa last year) and also set the fastest race lap time in GT2 .

This would technically be only the third race for the 997 GT3-RSR, wouldn't it? And the only race they've lost is Sebring, by mere inches.

I was a little concerned at first, as the times being posted were not promising, but it all worked out in the end. It'll teach me to keep the faith! |

I agree!
It will be interesting to see just how far they can push the 997. My concern is that the 911 concept might be reaching its maximum potential. As for the Spyder's disaster at Sebring....I only hope that Murphy's Law was at play, and that all the bad luck is behind them now. |

Wow, what a turn up for the books. I log onto FIA GT live timing and I can hardly believe my eyes, a Lamborghini has won the first FIA GT race of the season!! Not only that but the Corvettes are second and third, an Aston Martin DBR9 fourth followed by another Corvette before the first Maserati MC12 appears. And where's the TV coverage??
Does this mean we have a great season in front of us? So much for all the doom and gloom posts on the pre-season FIA GT thread, which alluded to the series going down the pan. Nick |

Wow! After last year and this weekends qualifying I have to be honest I wasnt expecting very much from the Lambo. Looks like they won on pace though going by the lap times. It is worth remembering however that the Lambo's run with a signifcantly larger rear wing than the other cars in GT1 of FIA GT, I doubt the ACO will make a exception for them at Le Mans like they have in FIA GT.

No first GT2 win for Porsche after all. BMS was disqualified after they failed the ride-height test, so the first one of the season is for the 2nd finisher, the Ferrari

LAMBORGHINI!!!! happiest man in britain! that is the best result ever, i'm ecstatic. party at all-inkl tonight?!!! can i also say i did say the PSi Vette would be handy, and that bouchut would be useful in a lambo? but i was so totally wrong with maserati- jus goes to show its not as predictable as me (mr cynic) would have thought.
