I think teams will struggle to get 3 paying drivers and the investment needed in the first year to buy the cars must be a huge risk business wise to the teams. The car sounds terrible! And from what I hear it is not better preparation for GP2 than F3 or WSR. A lot of drivers appear to be getting cold feet about it.
Also I noticed Mark Webber drove the car, thats not very fair! He is a team owner and will now have information about the car well in advance of the rest of the teams. I wonder if Arden will be getting a 'special' deal from GP3 for Mark Webber to promote the series. The only thing GP3 has going for it is the F1 support bill. I don't think it is beneficial to the drivers racing in it. You get much more races and track time in F3 and much more testing as well. Plus GP2 will finish their Main Series in Abu Dhabi in 2010 not at a stand alone event. |

Most teams have been asking 700 Euro. As has been said before the only advantage of the series is being at F1 events (if thats an advantage, being off peak times and treated like third class citizens). May be some sponsors would see it as a positive for entertaining guests(although even that will be many time more expensive than norm)The limited seat time must be a real concern for drivers and I think that this will lead to GP2 teams preferring more experienced drivers from F3 series instead of GP3. So unless all the teams have some great partners/sponsors to subsidise these drives I think there in trouble. I don't know of any F1 team boss's who would take time out to see these cars a races and are more likely to read about up and coming drivers in Autosport whilst relaxing during the week.???????

The team can prepare the driver with F3 Test or Formula Master it's not a problem. I think you are underestimating GP3. |

Wow. Just read the above artcle and rather than show a great car and concept just seems to be an over priced formula two. I think they could even race in the same race,(although f2 up dates may make it quicker). I don't see much competition for F3 although the Euro Series budgets were already limiting numbers. Technically sounds exactly like F2. One ponit which is not clear, is there a test ban during the season and does the 600-700 euro budget include an extensive exclusive series test programme. It would need to.

Doru Sechelariu has not signed a contract with Mucke but he tested for them in the aim to race in GP3.
When he tested with Jenzer he was faster than Varhaug. He also tested with Tech 1. http://www.adevarul.ro/sport/antifot...174582968.html |

Ivan Lukashevich will likely drive for Manor in gp3 due to Virgin-Marussia cooperation.
