Have a look at Page 8 in Other Single Seaters > NW FF1600 Serious Thread.
That dastardly Hutch reversing into goughy. 50-SIX would have been lurking in third place. People say it is hard to overtake Hutch. Perhaps the photo shows why. |

keep this thread on topic - stop refering to other threads and idle chit chat. This is a good thread.

Hmm, dont recall making the above post - must have been kartingdad.
Just readin the predictions, and they are quite interesting. Cant see Steven being happy with third somewhow this year, and based on last years results you dont really see the full picture. He was always up there, and led many racs so it would be a bold decision not to predict him as the pre season favourite now Hutch and Stu have gone. If they were still racing in the series this year - who knows which way the top 3 would end up but i bet it would have been mighty close. My predictions are; 1.Steven Roberts 1.Me - tied with steven 3.P.Gavriel 4.M.Chadwick 5.C.Hodgen (possibly 4th, will be close between these two i think) 6. Wide open to many different people. |

Wait and see, wait and see RR.
Just Ian's predictions, and if everyone put the same down it would be a bit boring wouldn't it? |

I never said that Diz, but thanks for your belief in me.
The Northwest appears to be the most open championship, while the SOM appears to have the cloest attack for the front of the grid. I'm curious to if anyone KNOWS if anyone is going for more than one championship - I'd guess not judging by peoples top 6's. |

My mini NW season preview.
Drivers that will be in the mix in NW Post86, in no order: Myself Ian Gough - Very fast on first outing in the swift, only going to get quicker. One of this years main challengers IMO. Pete Gavriel - quick all last year, especially the last few. Chris Hogden - getting quicker and quicker last year. With a decent car set-up now, should be quicker. Phil Austin - Took time mastering the new car, getting to grips with it at the last round. Will be very quick once he has fully mastered the car, as he proved in his RF85 with outstanding lap times that would put most post86 cars to shame. Steve St Clair - Bloody good bloke who will go quicker this year. Hutchy - if he returns! John Loebell - went equal fastests (to the bloody thousanth!) round fosters last year and will be a contender when he shows. Jamie Smythe - Pre 87 champ expected to do well. People I don't know much about, but who will be quick: Alan Pike - Got a good car, experience of winning. Mike Bennet Nick Hewitt Dave Fricker Pre87 Mike Bibby - strong outings last year Dave Franklin - Legend back from legends. Sarah Minshaw - Strong at Anglesey, ever improving. |

He will be using the RF92 that Dave Hart ran Neil Jones in last year. He will again be run by Bernard Baxter I think.

The NI fford champ would be on par if not better but then you'll have to come over to see that yourself's.
