You can pretty much count on there being two Chinese rounds. Zhuhai and a big surprise.

I don't think A1GP round Macau would work to well. Its too narrow and twisty.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPOsbq_0SBY One car struggled - I imagine a whole grid would struggle even more.

as far as I can tell, here in Zandvoort in october, we'll have the Benelux Racing league ( Ford Mondeo and Focus silhouette cars ), Dutch Supercar Challenge, the Samsung BMW 130i cup and the Formido Suzuki Swift cup.

Not Macau.

I would expect to see some regular support races in future seasons at rounds where motorsport is developed, such as the Netherlands and Brands Hatch, as spectators would demand it. In new motorsport markets, where motorsport is less developed and there are large emerging markets for Ferrari, such as China and India, I would expect more Ferrari festival events.

Shanghai is a good circuit, but I think A1GP is struggling to get good attendance in China, no?

Just saw the Autosport A1GP Shanghai round report. It showed a picture of an empty grandstand and said few people were interested to attend the race.

There were quite a few people in the main grandstand and at the first turn but not many more than in season one two years ago, so it isn't growing in Shanghai. It is in F1's shadow (so is Moto GP and any other motorsport event that has been held in Shanghai).

Heard from good sources that Shanghai will be dropped, as will be Brno ( regardless of what their site says ).

And I heard a date and place for a German round. May 8th 2009 at the Sachsenring.

Don't they have these very strict noise rules there? If it goes ahead it will be brilliant, the track is great!

And unless they plan to end the season there, which is unlikely, it looks like next year's calendar will be expanded no?

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a couple of rounds longer than this season. I also heard in Shanghai that it was likely to be the last one there. There will still be two rounds in China though, and the new venue will be an eye-opener

An interesting interview with Tont Teixeira is in the Autosport website, he states that national associations (such as Germany) are now approaching A1GP, which kind of verifies the Sachsenring idea. Sanctioning fees for some events are now up to 5-7m, a far cry from season one when A1GP had to pay to race.

He also confirmed what is now an open secret, that they are looking at a race in India near the end of next season, although logistics mean it may have to be season 5. If they have a timeline for logistics in mind that suggests to me that they have a fair idea of where the venue will be.

Well, the German site motorsport-total.com held a poll as to where a German round was to take place if it was up to the fans, and they voted Hockenheim, before Nürburgring and Sachsenring (also nice: Norisring was listed aswell ).

I guess it's not allways up to the fans.

From insiders I heard pretty much the full schedule for next season... 15 venues. Some very interesting ones . It will be fun.

ok, now how can I hint to the second Chinese venue without making it too obvious ?

It won't be the same circuit as in november 2006, but it will be close to there
