Besides Rydell also a good qualification for Terting, Chevy boys Huff and Menu and the indies from the low countries Coronel and Corthals.
BMW and Alfa (again) are very dissapointing. |

Well that was an entertaining session simply due to the wet track at the start. Huff was obviously going for pole before binning it.
Hopeful for a wet race tomorrow. (says I who will watch on TV! ) |

Alfa and BMW dissapointing for sure, and Coronel yet again up with the factory-seats. For ... sake someone give that man a factory seat somewhere next year.

Lets just hope there can be some dry weather tommorow although as has been pointed out it could well end up like final BTTC race in 2001, jesus please no!!!!!!!! Rain hitting your face at 40mph for over 5 hours we certainly do not want!

Hopefully it will be obscenely horrible weather for the benefit of paddockman.
I think we are in for some good races whatever the weather....but rain would certainly throw a double-six. |

Indeed, my main worry is T1. Hopefully everyone keeps their head and no-one gets shoved off!

I'm going there and I'm still hoping for rain!
Don't mind a bit of water, got my waterproof coat with hood. Anybody remember the 1995 BTCC Races on the Brands GP track? Rydell ended up on his roof! Some other guys crashed aswell, was a good race. |

His steamed up screen didn't help! I also remember Cleland having an interesting excursion at Paddock Hill.
That was one wet couple of races. |

Remember it well but that day was just showers' not rain all day. Remember Cleland firing it off at Paddock as Harvey was coming up to lap him, one of the funniest things i've seen! If it is as wet as BTCC Final 2001 your coat won't make any difference whatsoever to hours of horizontal rain that litterally stung your face! Last edited by Paddockman; 20 May 2006 at 18:49. |

Those two things were the first wet meeting at Brands that year, rounds 3 and 4, the rain was even harder and was definately not showers for rounds 11 and 12.
The clerk of the course had to lecture the drivers after the 3rd red flag I think. Rained alot that year. |

I am furious with my rail company! Absolutely nowhere on either the website or even the station itself within the last week has there been an annoucement that my local station is closed today!!!
The numbers just don't work - the extra hour trip to the centre station (in the pouring rain) will mean I probably would've missed the start of the race, and given people a lot of money in failing my objectives! To look on the plus side, should definately be a wet race, got plenty more (DTM, ALMS, Champcar, Top Gear!) to watch on the TV whilst the rain pours on. Just a shame to have missed my first WTCC race in a few years when it's at the circuit I can usually best get to. Grrrrr. |

Gutted, unlucky man.
I'm hoping for a wet race, and it started to rain pretty good as the Eurosport coverage ended, so it could well be wet. |

Oh hell yeah, weather's heading North from here...it's nasty wet watery rain they'll be seeing soon....it'll at least be damp by the time the race starts.
Thompson fastest in that warm-up of course, going to be the one to watch. Incidentally, Yvan drove at the GP circuit last year in the BTCC, I know Martin keeps saying he hasn't driven at the GP circuit which isn't true. It's certainly been a while since Thompson has though. |

Hopefully its full wet though, as Martin said a half-wet circuit is no good IMO, full wet atleast everyone knows what they're up against.
Half-wet = potential wrong tyre choice and us being robbed of a potentially excellent race! |

Just come back from Brands and its raining quite steady now. No cover so going to watch it on TV. Not a big crowd there, probably around a low BTCC level. Its a shame there aren't any covered grandstands.

Interesting end of again a rather dull race. Was hoping for a p3 for Huff, but it wasn't ment to be this race Race 2 will be more interesting I hope, the Chevy's/Seats are faster than the BMW's so Priaulx will have to do some serious defending!

It's Muller time! And a yellow-wash
Yvan Muller wins from Terting & Thommo. Huffy 4th...Priaulx picks up pole for race two, starting alongside Menu! Ooh, what fun. |
