first point, yes to the andy neate comments, may have been to much to soon but time will tell.
2nd point, i know he is a personal friend and iam trying not to be biased about this but how the hell has owy not being given a top team drive. in a car that should be nowere on that grid the boys is flying, correct me if iam wrong but i think he is now 4th overall and techspped/sunshine are leading the independants. how the hell do they do that, just shows as well with john george, no points last year, with owy and a slightly updated car and has scored already. well done to all at sunshine |

Highly unlikely- if Pinkney did decide not to come back, then I suspect the only way we'd see that Vectra again would be in the hands of a new owner as and when he sold it.

I thought that the Gio line that Tim Harvey was talking about was referring to his exit from the corner before the the chicane(s) that lead onto the main straight.

MacDowell hit Pinkey.
As someone said I think Dave was copping a strop at being taken out. He's obviously got a significant investment in the car this year - the car wont have been cheap and he's also running the NG engine and probably has a fair bit of cash in the implementation. Fair enough, I expect by now the car is sorted and he is looking forwards to Brands. I've seen Hollamby and the AMD team put posts in several places on the internet moaning about Nash, who they say hit the Golf, pushing it into the Forester car, bashed a door, bent the sill and apparently wrecked the exhaust, although they had spare body panels and presumably repaired the exhaust for race 3. The posts stress how hard it is for them, being the only team to develop a non factory backed car. |

I think it's all getting a bit confused isn't it, as there were incidents involving the same drivers in two of the races, hence of lot of the quotes being "He hit me", "No he hit me".
Then of course you've got to factor in that they are racing drivers, so it's always going to be someone elses' fault |

Interesting to see Nash's ram into the back of the AmD Golf caused £3k's worth of damage to the VW. Now make that a BMW 320si (in reference to Collard at Thruxton) and the price is even higher.

I think the Rockingham track is really quite a dull place. I guess for an infield track of an oval there are worse tracks, but I just find it to be a very uninspiring venue to watch races at. In contrast to say Thruxton, which I think is a wonderful, challenging track.

The only thing I like about it, is the viewing area on top of the pit garages. Apart from that, I despise the place.

If you ask most people who's going to win the championship most will go with Plato, but why are the Honda's being rulled out, the cars are quick and race winners so is it down to the drivers not being able to win it?

It is and it isn't. Yes you can see 90% of the track, but you're so detached from the racing, you'd be better at home. I'd like to see a proper oval race there though, that'd be a different spectacle altogether.

From the pictures they put up its hard to say for sure but the golf looks as if it would of hit the Forester car anyway.. I was wrong, seems it was Hamilton that caused Pinkeys damage. TCT put this up: http://www.touringcartimes.com/article.php?id=4703 Then a bit of a spat ensued on Twitter about it .Between Hamilton and Hudson. Hamilton put a message up on Sunday that he had to go to the naughty room, but was found "not guilty". So I guess it was over this incident. |

Well I reckon a new custom built Milltek exhaust is the best part of a grand at least. Then the bodyshop work needed to fix the sill and the new door skin. VW's aren't cheap to fix. I should know, I drive one!

I used to own a Golf, but after it got to about 10 years old (mark 3) it literally began to fall to bits. I had 9 or so years of failure free motoring, then it hit the big one - zero and then it just began to die. Oil pump failed, passenger door wouldn't open, cracked leaking head gasket, exhaust fell off. Coupled with all that the front end damage I had when I ran into the back of a van and it just wasn't worth bothering with, it would have been £500 for a new front end, probably near £800 for an engine rebuild, at that point I had already forked out the £300 or so for the oil pump, after which I decided it would be the last thing I would spend on her. It was so depresssingly slow also, totally gutless when you put your foot down, but I gather the 1.4 engine wasn't a good one, it was also really thirsty, so you had bad performance, combined with drinking lots of fuel, what a nightmare of an engine.

Quite abit of damage was done in that accident because we were punted from behind - The whole exhaust system, 3 wheels, door skin, door frame, "A" pillar, left side inner sill, left side outer sill (have to buy a complete side to get this) damage to the right side outer sill, new decals for that door, damaged wing, putting the car on a jig to pull the floor out, paint and materials, labour at the body shop, new tie rod and tie rod end (custom made ends) etc etc We havn't even taken the rear bumper off to see if any damage as been done behind there. It all adds up in case you have missed it, there have been a couple of updates on the blog this week. http://www.amdessex.com/btcc.blog.cfm Last edited by Ben at AmD Essex; 30 Apr 2010 at 14:30. |

I think AMD have done a great job so far, great looking car and a credit to the sponsers in how it looks putting other more established teams to shame.
