no, CVC owns GP2 and I'm sure Bernie will ensure the GP2 franchise is not affected by Briatore.

I think that Briatore will somehow worm his way back in anyway. I don't know why all these young drivers sign with him to be honest, he has such a bad rep for being difficult to work with.

There are just a few drivers rumoured to be in GP2 Asia and it's quite close to the season start, I think we may soon have some announcements from teams withdrawing from the championship.
It's doubtful they will have the will to operate on loss... may be ART will have Bianchi for a round or two and all the others...

I guess they are made to, if you want to be on the Renault radar - sign for me! RDD/Briatore doesn't even cover all the costs, as Red Bull or Toyota do.

Chilton to race for Addax in Asia
Quote:
British Formula 3 race-winner Max Chilton will graduate to the GP2 Asia series this winter.

The younger brother of British Touring Car Championship star Tom will race for frontrunning squad Barwa Addax, which ran Russian racer Vitaly Petrov to second place in this season's main GP2 Series.

"I've got a two-day test at Jerez on October 5 and 6 and then we fly out two weeks later for the first race in Abu Dhabi," said 18-year-old Chilton, who scored his maiden outright British F3 win in his last race in the category at Brands Hatch last weekend.

"I feel a little bit nervous because I haven't driven the car yet, but we'll see how it goes and if the team think I'm quick enough then we'll do the main series next year."

I hope Rossi gets some money so he can have a go at this. It'd be good for him I think.

I'm not sure Rossi will be in the winter series but I suspect he will be testing both GP2 and FR3.5 cars with a view to 2010.

Looks likely that Loeb will test for DPR next week at Jerez, whilst there are rumours that some F1 drivers will participate in the GP2 Asia test in Abu Dhabi in order to learn the track

Loeb for DPR, I'll believe that when I see it!

I had wondered about the possibility of some teams testing F1 guys or running drivers like Di Grassi etc for just Abu Dhabi so they learn the circuit. Plus it gives the teams longer to decide on drivers as I suspect most drivers want to sign to teams for both Asia and Europe.

I wondered whether we might see Bruno Senna as it looks likely he will be in F1 in 2010 and a race there would help him. Could be iteresting!!

Wouldn't it be great to see Lewis, Nico, Senna, Glock back in GP2 cars again!

I can't believe it, Loeb is going to test for DPR. Could have picked a better team! I just thought it was some absurd rumour!

Fabio Onidi, Marco Bonanami and Will Bratt will all test for Coloni at Jerez. They are the title protagonists in Euroseries 3000 and whoever wins the title will race with Coloni in GP2 Asia.

This is probably the best prize for helping your career in Europe, they seem quite serious in developing Euroseries 3000.

A sad state of affairs for GP2 Asia - they will only run at Abu Dhabi and Bahrain this year. Both circuits will host 2 rounds each.

I get that cost is the main factor behind it but you almost wonder why they have bothered doing GP2 Asia this year. They may as well have absorbed the F1 support events into the main series.

I don't think we will see either if those two unless they have money to buy it. And Team Lotus have confirmed they will not be running malaysian drivers, they want to do it properly and will most likely go with a current F1 drivers.
