HRT, DAMN MAN!!!... Where did you come from indeed ...
The whole area is thought out very well, with plenty of entrances (which isn't necessarily a good thing maybe )... You've encorporated the dragstrip and circuit really well. The only thing that I don't like about the circuit is maybe it doesnt have enough straights. However, there are a lot of circuits like that anyway. The first few turns remind me of Istanbul actually... Good job... |

thanks for all the great comments everyone!
the lower half of the circuit is very loosely based on the Amaroo track, which is now making way for more houses . and parts of the top loop could probable be tightened up to increase passing opportunites while straightening out the straight (which is currently curved) as well. I would picture the dragway to have a similar setup to the West Sydney International Dragway. one reason behind multiple entrances is to try and cope with the mass exiting of spectators after a race meeting (and I guess the arrive at the start of the meeting as well), I remember this being a problem at Queensland Raceway a few years back |

I made this on Saturday, but after I'd logged off, so have only just got round to uploading it.... Ah well, here goes nothing:
I'm surprised it ended up looking like a deformed bowling pin , but anyway- Nice fast circuit, I tightened up a couple of corners when I looked at it and realised there weren't any slow corners at all. Nice wide front straight as the drag strip (ala. Portland). Put in plently of parking for speccies and spectator banking, and there's also a big paddock - probably bigger than needed in reality. |

Guys, this is really weird: I can't bring myself to get a decent track on (virtual) paper with this challenge. I've done some sketches, but it's all c.r.a.p...

despite believing "if it ain't broke don't fix it", I couldn't help myself...
here's my track again, the main circuit remains the same, but I have added a couple of additional section to the circuit to allow for different configurations (out of curiosity I have so far found over 250 different way to go around this track ), I've also added some sand traps and some curbing on the corners. |

Here's my attampt at this...The main spectating areas are grassy banks around the circuit, the Exception being on the Drag strip which cut by the circuit passing between two grandstands before a hairpin brings the circuit back onto the drag strip.
For Safety there is an additional tarmac run off at the end of the drag strip before reaching gravel. The return route is to take the hairpin and enter the circuits pitlane and then onto the access road which links the pit complex with the start of the drag strip. Other than making an exclusive exit from the "highway" for the paddock, I've just hashed together some access roads as I was concentrating on the racing circuit. Here is my attempt!
http://img82.imageshack.us/my.php?image=comp0rr.png It has a large paddock and pit area. The S/F straight is the drag strip in reverse leading into the left hand turn 1. The blue rectangles are grandstands whilst the orange lines are paths for the spectators, there is also a Megastore of racing merchandise behind the Granstand on the Main straight. The layout only has 2 fast corners but overtaking will be possibele. My favourite corner is the right hand long hairpin leading onto the south runway, it will be bumpy and quite quick, like the last turn at sebring. |

Here's my go - I tried to take up as much of the space possible, hence the crossover. The dragstrip would be the top part of the runway - it may be a bit short but there's a gravel trap at the end anyway!! Also I might be a bit short on the spectator capacity side (I've made it almost impossible for any more grandstands), but the access is OK - the roads leading up to the track would be wider than on my diagram
The track - fast, safe, challenging, plenty of overtaking opportunities, and the last corner is banked slightly. The bit leading up to the bridge has quite a steep gradient, as has the bit immediately after it, making turn 12, the flat-out kink the hairpin at turn 13 quite challenging |

Yeah. Not Bad. I like the crossing and the the fast corners at the beginning.
Maybe the corner after the dragstrip is a bit too tight. I would loosen it. Ok here's my attempt |
