it just so happens that the 4 tickets next to them are for sale. (and the discount on 1 ticket may be about $30 (10%)
However peckstar's wise tip is to sit in the back row if you can You can look over the rail onto the main walkway and merchandise sales, which provides some lovely crowd viewing |

If it is too cold , wait ten minutes and it should be hot. One year you can spend the whole weekend rugged up, the next year its all about t shirts but the weather is very changeable also. |

Better if it is cold as the joe blakes tend to stay hidden-the overseas drivers at the 12 hour were warned that warm weather is a problem and if they happen to stop somewhere around the track be certain it is a stick you are about to step on! |

Put it this way-it gets enough to freeze the balls off a pawnbroker's sign. The W winds can bring a sudden drop in temps as well as a whole lot of dust but it is still the best place on earth. |

Yes, the inside of the chase is free. In a million years of doing Bathurst, I've never paid for a grandstand seat. Too many great opportunities elsewhere in GA, although by Sunday that seat may just seem like a great idea...

main grandstand on pit straight, Its usally very full,
We always book a year ahead because tickets are cheaper (same price as last year) and it ensures we get the seats we like (back row) |

went and checked, we seat in grandstand ten. It is right opposite a big screen and opposite the pits for thea teams in spots 8 to 10 or so in the pits (not sure who that is this year) It awesome to watch the pit stoips and especially the late stops.
Pit 7 is at the start of the pits, has a screen, but you miss a lot of pit action from there, although usally there is a reasonable amount of action at murrays corner which will be handy to watch. you wont be watching the pit ceremony from there because you will run down on the track (good experience) its also close to spectator pit entrance which may be handy. Ive tested it to see if we should move and we have decided not too , but its still a good spot |

Grandstand is pretty good on Hell Corner at the start of the race. Then getting up after roughly the first 30 or so laps and going up to the top for a while. It's pretty damn cool to see the cars going full belt around the top. (Although it's like rock climbing at times as it's pretty steep)
As for the last part of the race, be at the bottom near the front straight. |

Is that $125 for the 4 days or race day?

Oh I know that, GA and Paddock is $150 I believe, but I mean Free Seating on the grass.
Im torn between buying $300 grandstand tickets on the main straight as a base for 4 days or just winging it and sitting anywhere. What to do What to do! Corporate Hospitality would be good also |

Watching Bathurst from anywhere else except the top of the mountain makes it more like just another circuit. The spectacular bits of circuit are all with the exception of the Chase at the top.The big advantage of a grandstand seat is as an insurance policy against lots of rain if your stand is covered.

The covered grandstand is nearly booked out from what I understand. I was going to book it and maybe I should have but now I have missed out, hence the thought process of what to do now. I do intend to head to the top a number of times during the 4 days Im there |

the problem with the top of the mountaing is that people get there early (as in the weekend before) and stake there claim thus all the good spots are gone. however , unlike certain other events at the track, they dont point up marquees
The other issue is that unless you get in front of the big screen its hard to keep up with what is happening, the radio doesnt help much. |
