The choice was between session 1 yesterday and session 4 today. Session 2 was for all participants anyway and all teams drove there, while only the announced nine cars drove in Session 1. You didn't understand the selection and the different sessions, did you? |

Pug on top of the timing sheet before the session is RF'd, hope someone will make of picture (as during LM race). They know how to tame a cat (a squirrel too).

The Isotta Fraschini is for sure a fast machine but its actual BOP seems a real handicap to make it quick during this first prologue ever.

Okay, session is done. Porsche and Peugeot are looking pretty strong.
Cadillac in 5th, Toyota right behind, the Ferraris and then the BMW in it's debut a very good 10th. Looking at the time sheets, pretty darn close with a .03 second through the Hypercar group. |

Seeing the number of pit stops made (14,13,11 and 7), Penske mechanics and engineers didn't come to fool spiders! Cats either…

I wish the tech behind the Ten Tenths forum website wasn't so ancient (like it seems it hasn't had an update since 2006), so we could take screenshots and post directly into a forum post, like the timing results from the sessions

Sort of, but instead of "attaching" a thumbnail/physical file on my computer, I could take a screenshot (via the Snipping Tool on PC's) of something and paste it directly into a post I make (which other more modern forums allow you to do) |

1:40.404 from Makowiecki in 4th session is I think the fastest time overall at the prologue.

Kind of worrying the Lambo and Alpines are about 2 seconds down on the fastest Porsche

WEC PROLOGUE 2024 - LOSAIL; QATAR
Quote:
Not yet it isn’t. While it eventually might be it has done less laps as they are still learning the car. Fortunately it got some good running in as it went along, but it is a little indication that they are a bit behind the bigger teams and factories. If it had been top of the time sheets in its first official test session then it would be really weird. Its BoP adjustments are between the two other decent Hypercars. But to be only 3s off this early on bodes well. It certainly seems to have the potential to surpass Glickenhaus and Vanwall. |

Also not surprised to see Lambo, Alpine and Isotta near the bottom of the times, for what they are worth. Near cars, new teams etc. Same as last year. |

I expected more from Alpine, but have no logical reason why. I guess because they've been promising a proper top class car for so long that I just kinda expected more of it.

Final session times: https://www.fiawec.com/en/race/result/4860
Porsche, Caddy, and Ferrari the top 3. Faster times around in this final session too. I have a feeling we will see some different times in few days when it matters more. I'm also really glad nobody had any significant damage to their cars during the test. |

Porsche and Cadillac showing good pace, with the Ferraris not too behind. Slight drop from the Peugeots, but still consistant. That's good. The Beemers are making a great debut, meaning they could be in the fight. That work with the RLL might pay off.
Then there's Toyota, and everyone's asking, "what happened?". Falling of the table like this will have a few screaming for a BoP re-do, as this is definitely not what they expected. Competitive, yes... but this?! As for Lamborghini and Isotta Fraschini, give them time. They show good speed and pace, but they're still new. They'll figure it out. |

Not sure about qualifying but in the race they'll be fine for sure.
