Driver of the race? JW, kept it cool, did what he had to do, fastest driver and layed his mark in good fashion for 2006.

What a great race. Would like to give the award to Tracy, but his move on Allmendinger does him out. Lavin deserves a note too, but Wilson the winner sure.

Great win from Justin, he always seemed to have things under control, although who knwos what Tracy could have done without the penalty, or Bourdais without the need for an ECU change? Solid results for Philippe and Power amongst others to finish the season too

AJ just said that Paul is the "dirtiest" driver, and Paul said he indeed blocked him pretty hard and that he probably deserved the penalty, so even PT acknowledges it. I think there was good racing today. RüSPORT were dominant today and Justin even more so.

Vey good drive from Wilson. I think he is going to be Bourdais' No.1 challenger in 06.
My heart goes out to Dominguez, Glock is turning into a bit of a young PT. Quick but prone to stupidity. Boy, AJ sure is ****ed with PT too. Not sure if everyone is privy to it but Aj called him an idiot in a post race interview. PT to his credit though, said that AJ had every right to be angry and admitted that he blocked him very aggressivly. Great race to end the season. Can't wait until next season. |

Fabulous win for Justin. Richly deserved in a highly promising year. Hope to see him putting a lot more pressure on PT and SB next season.

The people in the grandstands certainly didnt like the move of Glock. the first pit stop of Bourdais, very bad. He lost too much time in that one. Phillipe did a good race, so RAnger and Power, but i think Power was better considering it was only his second start. And Da Matta, he was good at the start, but then who knows what happen to him

Overall it turned out to be a pretty good race, even though the Rusport-domination kind of made it boring towards the front. The Glock/Dominguez duel was good though - until the incident in turn one, that is. |

So how was the Papis/Legge international commentary?
The Canadian coverage was interesting. It left to comercial with AJ all over the back of Wilson, Bourdais in 3rd. They come back from comercial and Wilson has a 5 second lead over AJ and Bourdais is back in 13th! Virtually no explaination of the PT/Lavin/AJ situation until later in the broadcast. Glock: Again super quick at the end of a race. I don't get how his performances can vary so much between qualifying, the start of the race and the end of the race. As I said in another thread, he should be shot for hitting Dominguez. The series needed Dominguez to finish strongly! I agree that it was a racing incident, but he still shouldn't have done it. Ranger: Indeed he has been poor since Cleveland. I wonder what is going on. He certainly impressed the heck out of a lot of peope in the first half of the season. I didn't see too much of the new rookies: Power, McDowell, Zwolsman. Power seems to be very promising though. Overall IMO it was a good race. It would have been more interesting if the coverage was better and there was more challange to Wilson. Quote:

I watched a bit of the Int'l feed with Shaw, Legge and Papis. Legge wasn't bad but Papis was brutal. In his defense there is obviously a bit of a language barrier; but he sometimes just tries too hard to be likeable. |

Damn Tracy and his hyper rage has cost him a lot of points in his career...
Plain and simple, there is NO blocking in Champcar, yet Tracy threw one so harsh it would've raised eyebrows in F1 circles! I think it was the worst example of blocking since Silverstone 2003, Micheal on Alonso at 180mph!! That said though, it was a great front to back to front to back to front race from Tracy, finally utlising his rage for something more positive. Not as great as Justin's though, a near-pefect weekend, and a fantastic boost going into the offseason! Justin for the title next year? A Great race to end the year, no doubt. I was particularly a fan of the Glock-Dominquez battle, which we saw mainly from on-board......that was a special treat! |

TSN should just license the Speed coverage and broadcast that whenever the hell they feel like it. They can save money and not **** off race fans.

Interesting poll on the Champ Car website - "What was the most exciting moment of the Champ Car season finale?"
"Paul Tracy and Rodolofo Lavin getting together and then PT blocking A.J. Allmendinger" has a whoppin' 52% over "Paul Tracy's restart going from fifth to third" (24%) and "Mario Dominguez and Timo Glock battling for a podium finish" (22%). Seems I'm not the only one who want to see closer and harder racing. |

I don't think anybody didn't say it wasn't exciting. It just wasn't very clean.
