Verstappen takes the lead. They are saying Hamilton's car is having D-rate issues.

Congrats to Vertappen. He drove superbly to take the lead and maintain it. However, I can't help but think it would have been a different story if the Ferraris had been in contention.
What happened to Vettel's car? Looks like he got hit by one of the Williams on the wind down lap. Last edited by bjohnsonsmith; 1 Oct 2017 at 08:44. |

Vettel made a pass on Stroll after the checkered flag, Stroll hit Vettel and the car broke.
According to regulations, this was Vettels own fault as you are not supposed to pass others after the checkered flag. (Although F1 has a tradition for the opposite) |

Broke's putting it mildly. The left rear wheel was up and over the rear of the car.

Only seen the clip once, but can't see that Stroll did anything wrong......no idea where Vettel's head was!
Well done Max! |

You mean like all the other races of the season if the Red Bull and or McLaren had been in contention?

Well done to Max. Finally get's a break. Lewis didn't fight back too hard. And Ricciardo, a great drive and good defence at the end.
What was Vettel thinking on the cool down lap?? Another brain fart moment to add to the list. Crazy. Wonder if he will be in trouble for not attaching the steering wheel to the car before leaving? It is a rule. But I'm guessing there'll be no penalty. |

Seb does do some moronic things at times doesn't he? I think he might just be a little bit thick, not a very high IQ, with some of the silly things he does sometimes. And I'm Vettel fan and want to see him win this title.
But the amount of races he's not got the most out of the car, the silly move at the start of Singapore unofficially finishing his championship, then that move after the race. He gave Stroll no space but for god sake Vettel the race is over what are you even trying to pass him for? He said he was getting some pickup and thought Stroll must have decided to get some pickup as well. But if that's what you were doing, wtf are you passing another car for? Sainz Jr, he gets a lot of respect but another dumb move from him and then he tries to completely blame the other driver. Getting a bit arrogant? Tost as well, even though it was blatantly clear the other driver left him space (can't even remember who it was now). In fact these drivers don't have much respect for each other do they? The comments from Alonso again on Magnussen when Mag did nothing Alonso wouldn't have done in his situation. Probably less in fact. Then I think it was Palmer vs Magnussen and Magnussen calling him a fkn moron over practically nothing. At least I think it was Mag, not Palmer. Either way, where's the gentleman's respect? |

Decent race, just a shame Massa was told to let Stroll by. Not racing at all.

There is a darker line on the tarmac through the corner of the Vettel-Stroll incident that I am guessing is indicative of the racing line as it follows the arc of the corner. You can see Vettel's nose crossing over it from right to left showing that he was taking a tightening angle into the bend.

Magnussen vs. Palmer Malaysia Plenty of space for Palmer, who just losses the car, almost hitting Magnussen. But I agree, there is beginning a trend of complaining for race incidents. However I would say this trend is happening in the majority of the grid and no one is particularly bad. Maybe the F1 TV crew should be better at moderating bad language and irrelevent comments? |

Someone's posted on Facebook a supposed Stewards report saying essentially that no clear responsibility for the Stroll / Vettel incident, NFA. But reminding everyone to be careful after the race has finished

Unfortunately Vettel is prone to these brainfade moments. Thankfully this one happened after the race had finished.
I know people moan about Grosjean's whinging but Magnussen is really beginning to get on my nerves. His driving standards are regularly 'suspect' but he struggles to deal with anyone giving him a bit of his own medicine. |
