Were the drivers told that all of the sealed surface on the exit of turn 5 was available for driving on? The lines of cars ignoring not only the white line, but the kerb and driving straight over the back and using the South circuit pit lane road to rejoin the track was pretty disgraceful from our "best" drivers. I think the only car that actually went around the corner as it was designed was the Safety Car.

I've never read it anywhere, but I wonder if the rules are free enough to allow some scope for development of the control chassis design, to 1, beef them up in certain areas, and 2, facilitate easier repairs? |

Moffat, Tander and Ingall slapped with points penalties.
GRM copped a team penalty for the wheel jettisoned from the #33 car. |

Had to have a hearty chuckle at Mr Edwards' view of the Winterbottom/Reynolds/Pye incident.
He seemed to think Winterbottom was hit. Not sure by whom, because the closest car to him was Reynolds. Mostert was at least half a car length back, behind him. |

Its a shame TC wasnt successful in acquiring the track all those years ago. V8SC could have based its HQ there, and fixed the traffic & access dramas... And provided 3 very interesting races across the weekend like we just enjoyed.

With that in mind - I dont see how he would have fixed any of the dramas you decided to bring up. As you said, the racing was great and the venue came across very well ontv. |

Do they not like the track, or just not like the current tennants who seem to be doing a pretty good job running the place the other 51 weeks of the year.... |

Why was it $50 BBQ pass only and no $25 for 1 day like QLD raceway. They know how to keep people away from the track. Typical tennis match again V8s blame ARDC and vice a versa. |

I guess it rests with V8s as they hired the place, did the organising/ran the event, set the prices and worked with the State Govt authorities re traffic management.

That explains it.
And it's $25 for 3 days at Sandown. |

Are you saying there is an additional $25 to park your car in the Park and View areas? I looked on the website and on Ticketek and cannot find any reference to this. If this is true, then a weekend pass has increased by over 50% since last year!
Edit: OK, I found it. Not happy! Last edited by revhead05; 27 Aug 2014 at 10:49. |
