James Byrne on Facebook who works for Blackthorn (who ran an Aston GT3 at Silverstone last year ) has in a comment for a post about Simon Watts GT3 season said they'll be running 2 GT3 Aston Martins this year in British GT

Blackthorn have been testing the new Aston at Barcelona last week

Really strong entry so far. GT4 announcement at 5pm - presumably from Century Motorsport. Means we'll end the week with 13 GT3s and 14 GT4s, leaving up to 9 cars to be announced next week.

Will be interesting to see who those entries are next week. I think we can probably guess another GT3 car or two (Blackthorn, Beechdean AMR perhaps) and it would be great if Sky Tempesta brought their GTWCE Ferrari 296 GT3.

This chassis is the ex-Salkeld/Johnson car, and a teaser from Chris Salkeld on Instagram suggests he is involved in Century's next announcement on Wednesday March 6th

It's looking very good so far, nice variety in GT4 especially with 8 manufacturers. From that Chris Salkeld teaser perhaps a second GT3 for Century, and would be great if Blackthorn did add a couple of Astons to the mix.

My guess is that it'll be Salkeld/Johnson in "Harriott's Chariot" 2.0 (aka a Century BMW M4 GT3)

They had 2 Aston Martins testing at Aragon earlier in the week too.

Seven more announcements this week, starting with GT4 at 9am tomorrow (Tues). Two GT3 announcements on Wed, presumably one of these is the Century one mentioned above.

5 announcements remain.

Tomorrow is likely to be a 2nd Century BMW M4 GT3 announcement and the announcement of the 2nd Blackthorn Aston Martin.

Friday would appear to be the second Paddock Motorsport GT4 entry - presumably in a McLaren Artura.

Thursday seems to have the most intriguing announcements - would love it if one of them was a Beechdean Aston Martin.

Presumably the Thu 17:00 one that seems to be a GT3 & GT4 is likely to be the same team if following the current trend.

Good to see Jonny Adam back, and Petrobelli a name I recognise from results but know little about.

So we are at 31 cars of the previously confirmed 36 entries listed.

I say this every year, but the way British GT tease/announce entries is by far the best out of any GT series. Great way of building the excitement.

So we have 3 more announcements this week.

Thurs 9am GT3, Thurs 5pm GT3+GT4, Fri 9am GT4.

Beechdean AMR have been doing a delightful blast from the past recap on Instagram this week cumulating in a pic of last years GT3, and the question of what could we possibly be doing this year? So my best guess is Thurs 9am GT3 is Beechdean.

Paddock certainly have a GT4 yet to be accounted for, so that does make most sense for friday.

Thursday 5pm seems likely to be one team announcing a combined GT3 and GT4 entry. This is most likely RACE LAB. They have teased this week being announcement week for their 2024 programme but no news yet. Last year they ran 2 GT3's and 1 GT4, so it would add up.

Anyone tracking to this point is probably asking where car 36 is? No idea.. Maybe Racelabl do 2 GT3s again, maybe Beechdean do 2. You tell me

Again really exciting diversity on the grid in both classes:

GT3
Mclaren- 6 (likely 7); Mercedes- 3; BMW- 3; AMR- 2 (likely 3); Lamborghini- 2

GT4
Ford- 2; BMW- 2; AMR- 2; Lotus- 2; Mercedes- 2; Ginetta- 1; Mclaren 1 (likely 3); Audi- 1; Toyota- 1

5 MFG's in GT3 with over half of that grid comprising of British car makers.

A great 9 MFG's in GT4, and 4 different British car makers making up nearly half the grid there.

Nice to see not just a majority British car set in British GT again, but increased diversity with Lotus being added to the fold. Gives it a nice distinction against something like ADAC GT Masters that is rightly dominated by the German car makers.

1 announcement remaining- Paddock's 2nd GT4 car tomorrow morning. I believe this only takes us up to 35, so there could be a surprise in store on media day on Tuesday 12th

Only place that mentioned 36 as a entry number was DSC. Last yeat British GT said their 35 car entry was capacity. So either theyve gained room for one more car, or the 36 was a typo.

We shall see come media day, but im plenty happy if the 35 cars below is the entry!

Should be a great season. I expect we will see a few one off entry’s for the Silverstone round.

British GT themselves repeatedly mentioned 36 cars on socials, including this tweet (dated January 16th). Either way, its a strong entry.
