Some funny shade thrown in the article lol. But if what I'm envisioning comes to fruition, man those would be some pretty racecars.

If I were the ACO, I wouldn't introduce these GT3 Plus rules.
Ratel has reasons to be happy. |

I'm thinking more awkward cars with kit car looks for low downforce more than full on specials. Think more ESM DPi than Mazda, funded by the guys who want to run it over fully funded by OEMs

This gets even weirder in IMSA with gt4. It is called GS in one series, and next year they are adding another series with gt4 and I think they are calling it GSX or some nonsense.

Don't forget the GTEs have a LM-specific aero package already
Also - GT3 rules are FIA, not SRO - SRO have the most widely-adopted BoP structure but do not define the rules GT4 is different - that is owned by SRO - if you all a class GT4 then you have to have an SRO license - that's why several championships don't call it GT4! |

GT3 cars are homologated by FIA
GT4 cars are homologated by RACB (Royal Auto Club Belgium) |

In a recent pay article of which I can only read the few first sentences, Endurance-Info seems to be stating that the now infamous GT3 Premium pack had been withdrawn. I can't find any recent anouncement about that : maybe Graham you have some intel on that matter ?

I had seen a few comments that the majority of cars already met the desired design L/df ratios so didn't need modifications. Just better they close the loop and shut it down

Sense prevailed. Or rather, the market spoke and said "non merci".
There really is no loss of show moving from GTE to GT3. I mean, that new Porsche is a GTE car let's be honest. The increased variety makes of GT3 it worthwhile, and this kit would have made less cars able to compete. |

I’m not upset this is gone, but neither was I in the it’s a stupid idea camp. Although that was a big camp and I felt left out.
It was extra cost, but not really that much in the grand scheme of running an Le Mans car. In the world of collecting cars that raced at Le Mans I thought they might actually recoup the difference in that it was more unique to any “normal” GT3. And this matches how most of these manufacturers sell their GT cars. Lots of silly little specials that fundamentally don’t really do much, but are more unique. All kind of unnecessary, but then so is everything we talk about round here This may be the last time I even consider this though. So good stuff. |

GT3 has already become GT3 premium in recent years anyway.
My one personal gripe is that I wished the cars were a little louder. |

On that front, the new Mustang has started practicing and it seems to sound great. Although sounds may have been amplified for the video:
https://sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/...g-gt3-emerges/ On similar front, Aston Martin may be looking for a new WEC team, and Heart of Racing is looking to join WEC: https://sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/...24-wec-effort/ |
