Sean, yes, it's definitely being split, in an attempt to allow the reserves a possibility to race.
At the half-way mark, the safety car will pick up the leader, and bring the field into the pit lane, which is to be considered "parc ferme". At this point, the amount of cars that have permanently retired, will be replaced by the same amount of reserves (who's position as "reserve 1, reserve 2", etc, has already been determined, probably in the order that they coughed up their dosh). The reserves will join the back of the queue, and the safety car will lead the pack back out on the track for a pace lap, then it's racing again. I hope everybody will bear with us in this new initiative. Like a lot of things the EERC does, it's breaking new ground. Let's give it a go. Cost effective - not Locost ! |

Thanks, Sam.
Britcar is currently oversubscribed, and in today's climate, we're trying not to turn people away. There are 6 reserves for Brands, and, whilst I obviously wouldn't want to see any early retirements, such things are inevitable, and, since the races are long, it allows us to capitalise on the situation, meaning a reserve will potentially get at least 50 minutes racing. |

Thanks for your response Steve
I don't mind being flexible with new ideas, but it is rather frustrating to have to ask via a forum as to what the procedure is going to be on raceday. I am still not sure whether we have to have mandatory pit stops in each half of both the races either? Do you know what the score is? Surely it is not too much to ask to have a up to date website that explains WHAT EXACTLY is going to be happening. Nor can it be too difficult to send an e-mail, or dare i say some form of newsletter to all drivers so that we are aware of race formats and durations instead of finding out on the day. Is it too much to ask? |

It is on the site under the entires and I quote " notice to all drivers Britcar/Britsport/GoldArts 100 will have a driver change in each segment of their RACE" So yest you will have to do 2 stops for driver changes.

God it's confusing for a small brain like mine - Top Cats told me today its a straight 3 hour race.
Perhaps i'll just turn up saturday - grin insanely - then maybe someone will explain the race format slowly and in small words that i'll understand. MP |

Right, everybody :-
It's back to normal as of today, because a)some entries have withdrawn, and the reserves are now not reserves anymore, and, b)it apparently needs more discussion with the MSA. So now its a straight 3-hour race again. Sean, there was a piece on the website, titled I think, "reserves get to race", but maybe this didn't spell it out in detail. On your points regarding communication, I will reserve comment, other than to say that I have no control or input into the website, which is the preserve of James and John, and that my status, part-time, spare-time, and totally unpaid, is liaison with the media rather than competitors. I would suggest that you take this up with "the management". |

A quick note what Steve has said,As far as I am awear the Race will STILL be 2 Stops although 3 hours in duration.
And in regards to communication it appers James and John are working on a new site and a forum of their own so watch for that going online any time. |

I couldn't make it along as I was Silverstone bound - shame as the racing sounded good.
