To help try and get a bit more understanding going into the race I've looked at which sectors these cars get their lap speed from. Here is the ranking of the average of the Top 50 sector times of each car.

Bit of a mix.

Toyota loves the twiddly bits.
Peugeot does alright in S1 - it's the top speed bit, but drops down elsewhere.

Why do you get a 1 minutes penalty for a pit lane start? Starting from the pits isn’t an advantage?

Even more silly for the #54 since it’s not going to get into the race for at least another 30 minutes or more anyway..

This track is so big, 8-10 car widths in many parts. Cars look absolutely tiny from above.

Ferrari looks to be in control early in Hypercar.

Occasionally it can be advantage so it is to cover that off, I guess.

Anyway, I missed the first ten minutes, late back. Still I will get to see the best bits from the start in the hourly update - glad they have those.

Toyota race pace looking good, but work to do.

BMW on it - good start.

And the racing - wow.
