Diniz outqualifying Hill at Spa 1997? Why does everyone remember Hungary but forget that?

Vic Elford - the only person to have scored points on Rallye Monte Carlo (he won it) and at the Monaco GP. I'll not go into Le Mans, Targa Florio, Daytona 500, Sevenoaks MC club rallies, Marathon De La Route etc. etc..

Unluckiest driver in the World Championship: either David Kennedy or Patrick Gaillard - the former should have had 1 WC start and the latter 1 WC point from the Spanish GP 1980, but the race was retrospectively stripped of Championship status. As it is, neither had either in their careers. |

They only qualified/scored poitns because several top cars were missing though. In any case, David Kennedy never got a drive worthy of his talents.

Maybe, but Ferrari would probably have been stuck at the back...
Most races without a point: Luca Badoer. Most races before scoring a point: no idea, but Nicola Larini must come close, took him about 41 goes. |

Heinz-Harald Frentzen remaining loyal to Sauber in '94 - and putting the car near the front of the grid.

Gilles was full of special moments, even when racing and winning championships in snowmobiles! Not many people know he was very mechanically inclined, even designing his own wishbone suspension system for his snowmobile. He could take a motor apart and put it back together. Quite a unique man, he was..... How about Jarama, Spain, 1979, driving that "tank" of a Ferrari to a most unlikely, 5 car, nose to tail victory. |
