When they launched the GTS car, Lamborghini said they had plans for a customer Gallardo in GT at a later date.

Definitely! I haven't seen any pictures of that car anywhere else (if you're talking about the DB9R at least )

I could care less what the car is, I'm excited that Prodrive has factory backing. It's getting awfully boring watching the Vettes run circles around all of their competitors. Not that I don't like to see that.
The negative of this is that I was really hoping to see to Prodrive and Care at PLM. With the S7R taking on the 575s and the Lambros, the addition of somebody to race the Vettes would make a road racing classic in GTS. I have a feeling they will be way to busy getting the DBR9 ready for Sebring. In other words, they have bigger fish to fry. Regardless, that's two new cars this year (Lambro and 575) and two new ones next year, factory backed. I guess that's eight but you know what I mean. Since the British team stayed true to tradition and kept the 550s red, I have know doubts that the DBR9 will be the only color it should. Last edited by Chevyguy; 28 Jul 2004 at 08:18. |

In that side-on picture, it looks like a rich-man's version of the Peugeot 406 coupe!

Rahal? Very interesting. More sportscar outings for young Miss Patrick? Maybe Bobby will have a go too...

Rahal.
Yeah right. When I see Bobby and the car at the track at green flag, I'll believe it. |

Rahal for the US campaign - Dave Price Racing as one of the European partners... Rafenelli talking to his old chum from BMW days Uli Schifer trying to get a car - or two...
However let's not get ahead of ourselves.. the car - once it's designed and built... will race in selected ALMS and European races (Le Mans for sure) in a development season for 2005. cars will then be relaesed to the nominated teams to campaign for full season of 2006. THe big thing to realise is that this is NOT a a factory 'works' programme. Ford have forbidden AM to put any cash into the project. AM have little disposible cash, they need to concentrate on their range expansion and the so the cash for design and build must be raised from external sources and the 'customer' cars will be sold - currently estimated at just under £500K each. There will be no factory cash assistance for the teams who will have to raise all their running costs too. As a number of you have noted this is only a photoshop picture of a concept - could it be that AM are trying to force someone's hand or are they just fishing for backers for the project? AM have already turned away the chance ( or messed it up - depends on which way you look at it!) a fully funded GTS AND GT programme - maybe they are rueing their decision. If Prodrive have found another cash source as per their 550 programme then good luck to them... I hope so.... JH |

I see from todays Autosport that Team Dynamics, who currently run 2 Honda Civic in the British Touring Car Championship are looking to run the Aston in 2006.
