Honestly, he drives perfectly in poor cars but gets a race-winning car and suddenly starts making errors. It's as if Fisi is deputising for him or something |

Alonso's certainly getting criticism now. I've just had a read of www.gazzetta.it, and even the normally partisan readers of www.marca.com are getting impatient. His errors should be kept in perspective though. He arrived with high expectations. Some people thought he was a shoe-in for the title. The Ferraris don't look great right now though.

Another outstanding day for Webber. I've always said he was one of the best of the rest. Not top drawer, but capable of doing a good job.
Now he's looking top drawer. |

Excellent job by Webber
Over 4 tenths behind Vettel in Q1, under a tenth in Q2 and way ahead in Q3, Mark is certainly showing Seb the way.
Top job by Kobayashi too. Odd how he never anything like this promising in GP2, but he's got it in F1. Last edited by Born Racer; 29 May 2010 at 15:56. |

You can only stay non-stick for so long.
Massa probably got the best out of the car, which was only to be expected at one of his favourite circuits. Alonso was maybe trying a little too hard to beat him. It should be interesting to see how Alonso fairs, trying to pass cars that are not 5 seconds off the pace on a dry track. Another fortunate safety car maybe? Did anyone else notice that the McLaren's (Hamilton's in particular) looked like they had about as much give in their suspension as the average Tesco shopping trolley? JB not far behind though and possibly had his best effort ruined by TGF (not the first time a 'Brit' has had is whole day ruined by a German in a fast machine). |

After watching a few laps in the HRT, wriggling its way around the track and trying to hurl itself into the nearest barrier, I was surprised to see a car could actually lap slower than that (Di Grassi behind Senna). |

Call me cynical, but I don't see things going Webbers way tonight. He's never had this much good luck before so it's bound to end soon. :P

Let's hope it's not a Turkey of a GP.

Regards Webber and Hamilton. If these two get away in order, will Hamilton's past issues of front tyre wear in Turkey, cause a different tyre usage strategy. Webber may well be using this as part of his race plan. I'm confident he'll finish ahead of Massa. Without wishing to sound biased, due to the Alonso/ Ferrari situation, he has never been the greatest qualifier. But something isn't right at the moment. It's almost as though he's trying to carry the car beyond it's natural limit. Trying to get Ferrari working to his personal march and making mistakes into the situation. What does interest me currently, is no journalist or media story has trotted out the usual line that was being used back in 2007 about drivers needing a few races to get tuned into their cars. I remember Alonso, Raikkonen etc being given the benefit of the doubt changing teams, tyres etc. whereas now, these guys are meant o be on the pace immediately. Even Button, it was said would take a few races to find his feet, and he put in two masterly drives to win. But now we're starting to really see where his pace is relative to Hammy. You know, if Ferrari had any sense, they'd step in before Williams and hire Mr Symonds as a tech director etc. Alonso knows him well and he does a great job. |

On a serious note, I wouldn't be surprised if Vettel were to get the jump on Hamilton at the start, which will make life complicated for him. |

He may not be making him look good, but he's justifying Kimi's performances in 2008.
