I`m deffo doing it!
I did Cadwell Park thanks to MSV`s genourosity to the orange brigade. Talk about eye opening? I`ve got a Peug 207 sport 110hdi 5 door and it was a fantastic day. Helmet was provided and 99% of drivers were well behaved and complimentary to all marshall`s on post for the day. Slightly dampened by the fact that someone totalled a Porsche mid session so it gave everybody a wake up call. See you at Cadwell! Rich |

The first year of the track days I did Brands hatch, cadwell, and oulton park. second year I did brands and Oulton Park and last 2 years I've just done Oulton Park. Cadwell is an amazing track, quite narrow in places but such great fun to drive a fast car on. I drove a 600M seicento built by Wolfdirectracing at Cadwell, it was awesome! 120bhp in a stripped out seicento. I've driven several cars round the various tracks and been out in other cars as passenger. The only incident I've had was spinning off at Oulton last time in my Xsara. A bit too fast on a damp track coming out of cascades and whoops!!

Yes, standard 106 with 1.1lt motor, and a loose nut behind the wheel. Not that i was driving like a nutter, it is my only form of transport so i took care to stay within my and the cars own limits. You don't have to have a trick car to enjoy and get benefit from one of these days. The emphasis is learning how to control a car at speed, learning the limits of human and machine and simply enjoying a fantastic offer of driving some cracking circuits for free. Now, who has a Lambo to spare? |

Yes, as long as you are a registered marshal.

Gutted to miss the last one at OP due to an outbreak of redundancy in the family, given the weather the Landy would have been right at home....
So, now I get the chance to twirl the new focus Deisiesel around Oulton Mmmmmmmm cant wait (ps watch out for that Newnes character, looks innocent, goes quick!) |

keith, are you allowed back on the tracks after your driving last year. definetly not the fastest car on the day but probably the most flamboyant. how u managed to drift a front wheel drive lupo through old hall in the wet is beyond me!!
i dont know if iam allowed back this year after being sent to the clerk after just 2 laps in my 1.2 corsa last year. next time its either my almera 2.2t sport or my supercharged mx5 mk1 if its finished! should be fun |

Read the earlier threads!
The idea of the track days is not to set a lap record but to enjoy a relaxed day and to get to drive the circuits at which you spend so much time working. |

I don't know what you mean. I drove like a granny (apart from taking a second gear corner in fifth!)

thats not usually a problem, its when you have the same revs in 5th that you would in 2nd that you want to start to worry!

It's the norm for any session at MSV Circuits 98db I think but you would be wise to check first.

Trackdays are usually a chance to thrash the living daylights out of your car exceeding the speed limit which you cant do on the public road. at the same time safety is of prime importance and if you drive like an idiot you can expect to be sent home. Perhaps track experience or the like should be used, I have just done a Nascar experience and I was behind a pace car for the whole 8 laps. |

taken from MSV's website;
Brands Hatch Indy, Oulton Park, Cadwell Park and Snetterton Cars: Saloon & Sports Cars - 105dB(A) measured statically at 0.5metres and 45deg angle, at ¾ maximum rpm Brands Hatch GP Cars: Saloon & Sports Cars - 101dB(A) measured statically at 0.5metres and 45deg angle, at ¾ maximum rpm so no, 114db would be out...what is it anyway? |
