I imagine that a lot of production work is needed for the race build up and some of that would be scheduled to take place Sunday morning and would be just too much on their plate as this was not expected to happen..

Another reason might be satellite time I know that itv take the world feed to the London studios but also book satellite space for there own signal and might not be worth the time effort and money for a event that may not happen and would get smallish number of viewers watching

So effectively 2 feeds going into London studios 1 of world feed another of ITV stuff with world feed and commentry (at least this is my basic understanding)

Sato San, just make sure you're tuned to RTL and not RTL2 then. I've still got the analogue system as well and they have a habit of putting "interesting" films on at that time on a Saturday (I understand).

ITV contractually cannot show F1 on ITV2, other than the highlights programme.

I remember in the days of 1996, Eurosport had recently been told that since they were already not paying for F1 coverage only one uk feed would be allowed from 96 onwards (ITV).
Eurosport promptly went nuts and started showing EVERY practice and qualifying session. (1st practice, 2nd prac,1st qual, 3rd prac, 4th prac, 2nd qual, warm up and race plus their mid week magazine show.)

Ice of the cake was their dramatic 11am reschedule on the eve of the Monaco Grand prix for that mornings wet aclimatization practice (It started yo rain between warm up and race.)No warning or anything the only way you could have known about it was by watching Eurosport all morn.

Dem were the days.

To look on the bright side though, we only have to put up with one dose of James Allen this weekend.
