I'm shocked! They have quite an entry list already. It will work at least for now. Who knows after that?

I noticed the last names Spengler and Kristensen in that list. Are either of those two possibly related to Bruno or Tom?
I'm pleasantly surprised by how many names I recognize on that roster. |

I think it's a spelling mistake and the name is actually Michael Christensen. Florian Spengler is German, no relation to Bruno.

Fair enough on the names.
I hope this circuit doesn't end up being too busy with a ~25-car grid. From the little information I could find, the track is just under 1.3 miles (just less than 2.1km). Hopefully, future City Challenge courses will be more in the 1.5-2.0-mile range. Tracks like Sao Paulo and the long Surfers Paradise can seem a bit much for just GT3s or touring cars, but I think there's a happy medium between that and Baku, which just feels a bit on the small side. P.S. I wonder how they got Schneider to come out of retirement for this. |

Interesting entry is Konrad, do they have GT3 spec Porsches? I know they have plenty of Supercup cars knocking around but haven't seen them racing GT3 spec cars before.

Anyone know if this is being streamed online anywhere, and if so, where?
Thanks. |

Let us take a moment to give credit where it is due and establish that City Challenge has done an incredible job with their promotion so far. The website looks great (Take note Monsieur Ratel, seriously, the SRO sites are horrible). The live broadcasting sheet looks quite promising. There are some stunning night photos of the city, and a page with instructions on how to get a Visa to enter the country. I’ve seen several promotional videos in my YouTube subscriptions feed, driver interviews and profiles, mobiles apps, and an insightful Facebook page as well. There is also a page that has every team listed, the model they have entered, and even direct links to their websites. And wouldn’t you know, there is even a timetable listed before the race has actually started (Still here Stéphane?).

The times on the website are local, correct? A wee bit early on America's east coast, but I hope to catch it. I love sports car racing, and I love sports car racing with free, live, official streaming even more. Good stuff.

For those in the UK, I just noticed that Premier Sports have a freeview weekend this weekend, so the Saturday sprint races (I think, although listed as 'Qualifying' by PS) and the Sunday main race will be live and free to view.

If you want to watch race 1 live then Premier Sports are the only channel showing it live, the 2nd race is live on both.

Talk about versatile...just as good wrecking a GT as he is at wrecking a V8 Supercar, NASCAR stock car, or Grand Prix racer, that Villeneuve is.

I tell you what, this is all very impressive Martin Haven is the commentator, the picture quality is brilliant.
Will be interesting to see how quick Konrads supercup cars are compared to the GT3 cars. All of the Lambos are out though Alot of pressure on the drivers who drive the first race! Last edited by tux; 27 Oct 2012 at 11:11. |
