Normally I would be let down with a Ford victory of any description but there was some voice inside of me that cheered when Courtney passed the #1 Commodore.
Still feels like HRT are the true front-runners for Holden... to me at least. |

Of interest. Every car finished on the lead lap (bar Thompson who did'nt start), Tim Slade set the fastest lap, Ricciardello wasn't the slowest and no safety car again!

I asked him on his thoughts of 888. His words "I would rather watch Marcos Ambrose win a race in a FPR Falcon than Whincup or Lowndes win in a 888 Commodore" That reminds me, I must text him about HRT's efforts today |

When Jamie went to P1 during the top ten the crowd reaction astounded me, almost nothing !
But the cheers were pretty loud when JC topped the sheets, so I think the theories are on the mark, T 888 might only have T888 fans left, the Red & Blue sheep appear to have deserted them ? |

The champion isn't leading the championship anymore, and no discussion at all.......
Maybe all those people who thought the last 4 races weren't exciting actually did check their pulse and found out they had been dead for a while.... |

there are a few here struggling with the concept it is Courtney in front!
It's taken a couple of years longer than I thought it would though. |

Be great if James won a championship - he was the next big F1 shot we had until a big shunt at Monza in the Jag laid that dream to rest.... Brit FFord champ, 2nd in Brit F3, Jap F3 Champ - this bloke is as good as anyone in V8 Supercar & its great that he is finally getting some success here at home

I am,since it is so richly undeserved. Whincup's DNF at QR, Webb taking out Whincup at Winton, all just sheer good luck for crashney. Easily the least deserving c'ship leader since Dirty Marcos And BPB richo. Perhaps we should rename him DPB, since his hit on Davision was in the D pillar region. Time for him to go. surely he can find employment with some sad & desperate team who will hire him for the enduros in 2011. |

bit harsh there Marcos, even Jamie says he got a flat tyre because of the impact with dumbrell, you sound like stupid mark skaife, Jamie's issue was clear in the footage but still skaife and cromely went on and on about it
JC you legend, game on great couple of rounds |

Did webb even get a drive through for it? Or a points loss? Or did race control see it the same? |

Seems Courtney has grown a brain in the last 12 months. Not only was he fast but showed a great level of intelligence as well.

[QUOTE=Marcos WTF;2691299]Er, which race were you watching?
I'll admit I was an early knocker of Courtney. Not becauase of a lack of skill, but I thought he underestimated the work required to succeed in V8 Supercars. Great to see the 18 car winning races again. |

And The Team has their act together...it has always been coming, just now lining up at the right time. JW stuggling a bit on the sprint tyres and clearly CL is doing a better job on them when the pressure is applied. I thinkk JW actually commented on this.
Crashes or no crashes, Championships are won through consistency, luck and with a solid backing of a team behind you. Congrats DJR, and also 888 for continually sticking it up the rest of the Holdens!!!! Honourable mention to the GRM boys too, good solid drives all round. |

As a Holden man, this is difficult to say, but Courtney seems to have evolved quite a bit the past 12 months.
And even as a Holden man, I've always enjoyed DJR's underdog status. It's fantastic to see one of the stalwart teams taking it to the European might of 888! To think they were on the brink of team life in 2007! As long as they are taking it to 888, and breaking the monotony up, I'm all for it! Now, a win for GRM here and there, and when Will Davison gets a strategy/setup that works, we'll have some balance! |

What a shame todays race was ruined by a few safety cars and a ******* Carlton game. What a great weekend. Got my current employer and another firm fighting over my services (Show me the money!) The Pies a game clear on top of the ladder. (first time in 20 years) DJR on the top step at Winton (first time in 12 years) Courtney/DJR 1st in the championship (first time in 14 years) Webber on pole at Monaco (bring on tonight) Daniel Ricciardo pole and race win at Monaco (Torro Rosso drive next year?) Not to mention 2 Aussies driving for Penske at the Brickyard! (Power for the win) |
