Big deal if you make a mistake.

And I did a bit of research, it is the Benetton B191, as raced by Schumacher in the latter part of the '91 season (after his Spa debut for Jordan), and the early part of the '92 season - although I don't know exactly what races this particular chassis did.

It has a 3.5l V8 Ford engine. Just searched up an onboard on youtube, sounds pretty cool, although imo not as good as the mid 90's V10/12's (which are my favourite sounding engines ever).

Can't wait to see this in action, should be pretty sweet!!

Not sure where you are from, but if you are in Auckland in late January you should try and get to the NZ Festival of motor racing. This year they are celebrating Ferrari and there will be some 80's turbo cars but also Berger's 1994 V12 beast, which is simply the most beautiful sounding F1 car you will ever hear. There's some Youtube footage of it floating about. Nothing will ever be the same once you hear that...

B191-5 First race was 1991 French Grand Prix, Roberto Moreno's race car there and at British, German,Hungarian and Belgian GP, Then they kicked Roberto out and put Michael in and he did Italian and Portuguese Grand Prixs with it, then I guess become a Test car from that point. That was its racing life (According to Autocourse anyway). Benetton started the 92 season in B191 Cars but different Chassis.

So its got a bit of History, I even saw it race at 91 British GP

Is the Aussie GT race being webcast at all or delayed screening?
Greg Murphy is down for a McLaren and Baird for a Porsche.

Yeah, I'll be coming up for one weekend... I think there's 3 F1 cars confirmed already?

Will be amazing to see Berger's car.

The Benettons from 1989 to 1993 were beautiful, clean cars with nice liveries. They are some of my favorite F1 cars of all time. Glad people will be able to see this B191 run.

Does anyone have a list of the Aussie GT cars coming over? Or is it all of them?

TV coverage apparently. Not sure whether it'll be same-day or a week later though.

What will they be covering? The whole event or just the Aussie GT and Highlands 101?

Its definitely not same day coverage, I believe its 2(?) weeks later...

Apparently there will be coverage of all races. i.e. Aussie GT, SI Enduro 3hr & 1hr and Toyota 86's, plus obviously the Sunday 'all in' Highlands 101

For those who haven't seen it, heres the program for the weekend.

Looks like the Benetton will definitely be doing demo laps on the Sunday.

I think Shaun Summerfield mentioned on Sundays CRC program that coverage was to be delayed by a couple of weeks, which is in line with CDM's post.

It will be great to see for sure

On the http://www.volttv.co.nz/ website say they are covering Highlands 101 but the screening date has TBC (to be confirmed) beside it.

I hope the sound levels are better than the targa coverage short vids.

So 42 cars are lined up in pitlane, 45 degrees towards the pitlane exit. Co driver rips off the velcro strip, and they pull out into the 'fast lane' of the pits (40kph). Is that right?

Lets just hope nobody trips over while they are running...

I look forward to seeing the coverage & hope that the SIERDC race is as good as their usual high standard. The 3hr at Ruapuna (incidentally recently renamed the 'Mike Pero Motorsport Park') was one of the best races I have seen in a long time.

It's amazing how a small but dedicated bunch of motorsport enthusiasts regularly create an outstanding event featuring an incredible line-up of cars that puts many other more glamorous meetings to shame. Well done to all involved & all the best for Highlands. Just a shame about the entry prices.

I reckon the ticket cost represents amazing value when you'll get to see ten (ten!) Subota 86 thingys take to the track

That aside, Highlands have set a pretty high expectation with that price. So long as the experience represents similar value to an iconic band concert or a weekends worth of ski-ing then fair play to them

To be honest, I don't think the price is outrageous. Sure it is high, but to see these cars in action and to be at the first ever meet at Highlands, well I guess its not the end of the world.

I know it costs around $30NZ to watch Aussie GT over in Aus, and Im guessing around $15-20 to see SIERDC, so put them together and you already over halfway to the ticket price.

Plus we get to see the Toyburu's, which is surely worth $80 on its own

Obviously the ticket prices reflects the cost of bringing the Aussie cars to the circuit. You have to recover that $$$$$ somewhere.

Will be interesting to see what the crowds are like. Not sure how many tickets there are, but they certainly haven't sold out.
