I agree to an extent, courageous, but a) that's not in Stephane's best interests (a fast old prototype would beat his GT1s) and b) courage C65 is far to new.
I think he just needs to cut entry fees, and have a big race alongside the championship somewhere, just one big race. That would be encouraging for competitors. |

Flourent Moulin, how did your Viper seem compared to the Mclaren? Was there a comparable perfomance on the straight but the corners were all the Mclarens? Did you speak to the Lanzante guys / C Glasel about the F1 at all, and if you don't mind me asking who prepares your Viper for racing?

It's strange but the best turnout for the series so far was at the very first event at Silverstone. As most of the competitors were British in that race, could that have something to do with it? Looks like Giroix and the Italia Porsche GT1 didn't mind the trip either.
But i agree that if they had followed a mpore profile series (FIA GT) maybe that would work. |

Reading the posts again from Florent Moulin, as I recall it was Paul Knapfield who, having bought the McLaren had nowhere to race it and so approached SRO - hence the Silverstone event, He turned out for practice but could not get tyres which, as Florent says, are a problem for this car and so did not run
If he still has the car and can get new tyres I am sure he would run, what did the Fina car run? |

Fantastic engine that, perfectly suited to GT racing due to the torque characteristics, and so close to the road engine as to render rebuilds virtually unnecessary. |

Paul Knapfield did finally get the McLaren out at Magny Cours last season, so I assume the tyre issue was sorted. The failure of GT90s to get going really frustrates me - there must be so many cars out there suitable for the series. |

I also am really annoyed to see it failing to take off as the first race saw lot's of potential and a good amount of interest. Not many series get over 20 cars applying for the first race of a new series with quite exotic machinery. |

There were a LOT of fillers in that first race, if we're honest.

seriously yeh there were...sadly.
But still at least it showed interest and willingness to participate. And all the cars fitted the category criteria. I know there not the most exciting race cars in the world, but i'm not going going to be able to see Ferrari 355, Venturi 400 etc race anywhere in person elsewhere (i think) I think they just need to have another go at getting a round at a FIA GT event to see more potential again. |

The Stealth won the race but used Dunlop tyres. At Hockenheim Christian won the sunday race he was really fast. For info to compare Viper Vs McLaren Perfomance at Le Mans 1998, the last year McLarens raced there the EMI - O'Rourke car ( now Paul's one ) about 10 sec quicker than the best of the factory Vipers. the F1 is a GT1 car and the GTS-R GT2 ! Hope to see you at Goodwood then Florent, are you there on the Friday? Just in the paddock on a static display or are you going up the hill?
