interesting racing @Donington
Ducati nowhere and a double win for vdM i think the 2nd race win was even more impressive |

I finally caught up with the Donington action today; great racing in superbike race 2. You wait three years for a Yamaha win and two come along at once. Well done Mark!
Toprak was very impressive too and Ray and Mossey were respectable. I was hoping for a little bit more from Camier but I guess the bike is what it is. Did Ducati find out or say what their problem was last weekend? |

Watching the qualifying for WSB pole just now on Spanish terrestrial TV, the Spanish commentators hardly mentioned anyone else except any Spanish riders and even talked at length about Mark Marquez ? At the end they did say "oh Tom Sykes is on pole" talk about patriotic
At least they do love their Motorsport out here and most is free to air in HD |

Really?
SBK has not been interesting for many years, a bloke taking someone out is just one of those things and Sykes has form for it |

Totally disagree. With Davies riding the wheels of the Ducati and the Yamaha lads really finding some form the championship is a melting pot save for the fabulous riding skills of Rea. As for Sykes taking him out, I think that's pretty unfair comment. There's nothing in his contract that says he has to make way every time Rea comes up behind, he merely cut back underneath and they touched briefly. Sykes has been a paragon of virtue on track for a long time unless I'm mistaken. However, these are just my views anyway brilliant win for Lowes, been a long time coming for a real grafter.

Sykes has done it to Rea a few times, and also he and Baz had previous.
You know Rea is going to win, I do anyway and that for me loses interest. Fair play it seems a few teams have made steps, but then, all teams have been slapped with rather weird penalties, when ti is budgets that account for Kwak winning mainly. I haven't watched any SBK races this year and cant imagine I will, its a garbage series run by the same people that run GP, so what do you expect. The race format is pathetic having two races over 2 days, we all know that's a stupid, dumb decision, but what can you do, other than what I do and not watch it anymore. It unravelled under Flammini and Dorna have done nothing to make it better. |

Certainly agree about the split race format, it's rubbish. There's rumours that the series will revert to having 2 races on Sunday next year.

I got round to catching up with the Leguna Seca races yesterday and had two jaw dropping moments. Seeing Shane Byrne in the Eurosport studios. Wasn't expecting that at all, so glad he's on the mend. The 2nd was the Tom Sykes's interview regarding the Brno incident and in particular his comments about Pere Riba, I guess Tom is on his way out and feels free to vent about the team manager!
Race 1 was rather dull but I enjoyed the battle between the two Yamahas in race 2. |

Just saw the replays of Misano. Damn, Rea is good. Van der Mark and Melandri really gave it all in the last race, but he Rea always looked to be a bit more stable, a bit smoother and having a bit more grip compared to the rest of the field. But when you see former world champion Sykes struggling, you can hardly say he has the best bike.

Rea is saying WSBK needs a MotoGP star in the series. More like the other way around, MotoGP needs a WSBK star, him!

WSBK needs something to happen. I thank Johnny Rea is a fantastic rider, and he comes across as a good bloke, but his utter domination is getting a bit boring now.

Yes Rea is very good but I don't know how he would fare in MotoGP as it's a different ball game that others have tried and failed.
Don't get me wrong he is obviously the best at what he is doing but as to whether he could be a "front" runner is another question ! |

Well he’s got nothing left to prove in WSBK, so why not try a new challenge? It’s worth it

It depends if he actually wants to ? or a manufacturer wants to give him a chance. Personally I would think that he is too old to make the change and might decide to remain a big fish in a little sea rather than the other way round
Don't get me wrong as I remember when back in 2007 at my local track (Almeria) in Spain when winter testing during his BSB days, he was head and shoulders above everybody else. Last edited by GORDON STREETER; 13 Jul 2018 at 18:39. |

He has chances in the past but chose to stay a big fish in a tiny pond
Hence why I feel his achievements do not compare with previous riders like Bayliss and Fogarty. best bike, by far best rider, best budget, win easily and bore everyone to tears |
