The story I heard is that the crash aggravated his pre-existing back problems. I'm sure a few IOC-approved painkillers will solve the problem.

Reckon Turkington will make it, less sure about Lloyd. Max Coates will be racing in the little MINIs and Sam Smelt in the Porsche Caymans too, |

Great that Lloyd continues. It looks like he's extremely tight on budget but his season's been really good so far being effectively driver no 2 in Excelr8 so great he can carry on. And yes, what a commitment.
Wonder what's behind Butel's exit. |

So Turkington is back in chassis 1, which the owner has given permission for it to be used. Wonder who the owner is. |

I meant to post earlier about the cars in question to say that it all really boils down to how busy Willie Poole, or whoever the teams in question use, is/are to whether he or they can get the cars in to their workshops to straighten out the basic structure or replace bits that are beyond salvage. I say this as I believe, rightly or wrongly, that none of the teams do that work in-house.

I don't udnerstand how a team like WSR doesn't have any spare chassis around ?!
they have 3 cars of their own plus the two Cicely ones so it's a very high probability that something like this happens to one of them |

Long answer. Ciceley have purchased their cars, so they are no longer connected to the WSR entry. The MB car is to a certain extent a separate entry. The reduced BMW branding means that there would need to be agreement from MB to run the car under the team BMW banner. MB would potentially (and justifiably) cut their support if WSR did that. Which means they are (for all intents and purposes) budgeted as a 2-car entry. So if you are budgeting to run 2 cars, building a spare makes little sense. A few days ago you raised a concern that a reduction in backing from BMW would see Turkington without a drive. But you also don't understand why they haven't allocated budget for a spare car? Maybe they would have one if they budgeted less for their lead driver? |
