I'm a bit miffed with the grid. The powerboost laps have struck again. I am none the happier. We'll see about the race... I just would have wanted something less artificial.

Good effort by John Martin in qualifying for the feature race - sh*thouse effort for the sprint race

According to John it was all him,
He drove like a muppet for the first sprint quali and then had used tyres for the 2nd one (still wasn't in the best form) Then got his head together for Feature qauli 1 and went fastest. Had the "power boost" run left and really could have poled the final session but got caught out by the red flag as did a bunch of others. I think he knew he was quick and over drove the sprint quali. |

Team New Zealand seem to be struggling with the new car, they dont seem to be getting the results as easily as last year.

According to a news report the reason why Indonesia did not turn a lap in qualifying was a broken wiring loom, with a replacement one found to be faulty, and too much time required for a second replacement to be fitted.
John Martin seems inconsistent but has some pace, perhaps a bit more experience and he'll be very good. I really don't like this qualifying system, much prefer F1's knockout system, and didn't think there was anything wrong with the Sprint race classification deciding the feature race grid. And totally dislike the power boost lap. I usually rate Doornbos over Bleekemolen, but the latter seems very on it this weekend. NED should be in for good results. Interesting that Ireland is not dominant like they have been recently, this might even up the championship a bit, although Carroll is still high enough up the grid to win the feature. I am hoping Ireland win the championship so go Adam! Time to announce PAK's withdrawl and put PAK fans out of their misery. Concentrating on Renault F1 when you are nothing but a demo driver is a silly excuse. Last edited by Kiwi3; 22 Feb 2009 at 05:45. |

Besides my moan about the qualifying system, I also want to moan about having pit stops in the Sprint. The race is too short for that, would rather see them get on with it on the track.
Great performance by NED, and POR and SUI are so consistent. POR perhaps to win at the Algarve? Looking forward to an exciting feature, although no live timing for me, I cannot get onto a1gp.com as their server is busy :-( Last edited by Kiwi3; 22 Feb 2009 at 12:56. |

Looks like the server is busy because it's so popular.
What, don't blame me for wishful thinking! |

In other news, for various reasons I've not watched any A1 race yet this season (I know, shoot me) - but it's a bit of a messy race isn't it?

Some good overtaking.
Go Zahir Ali! Marco's lack of racecraft is a bit embarrasing... |

Good racing, good crowd, A1GP delivers again (on Sunday at least).
Great job by Zahir Ali on debut, competitive and kept it on the road. Even better job by young Felipe Guimaraes. Narain Karthikeyan is always spectacular on his way to an underwhelming result. Neel Jani is all class once again, ditto Bleekemolen in the Sprint. Girls bringing the medals out to the podium were hot. |

It's working again, which suggests the server was oversubscribed.
