well if we are going to take races of people becuase they may or may not have advantage. how about we take all the races of Holden from when the AU was racing because of the aero advantage the holden have.
Hes not a very nice man that simon. |

Perhaps the answer would be to make DOHC optional for Ford and Holden in 2014 and 2015, compulsory from 2016 on-wards.

A few people have said the Holden has an aero advantage this year, should we take away all their wins whilst we're at it?

If Nissan and/or Erebus had a power advantage, holden would be screaming to have parity applied, but it seems that parity is a one way street with them........hypocrites!

The win was legit because there was no cheating involved. They were given permission to use a different fuel. If that was a mistake, then too bad. In addition it doesn't seem to have even been proven there a was a power increase despite independent dyno testing. |

It would be funny if Simon gets his way, Nissan gets dudded, it moves Frosty and Will up in the points and that point difference is what wins them a championship !!!!!

Whether Mr McNamara's argument has been appropriately framed isnt the point.
The V8SA powers that be allowed the E70 fuel product to be used for one race of the season, in 3 specific cars, and chose to remove E70 from the fuel roster from the Sunday races. These are the immutable facts. Why did V8SA remove the E70 product from the fuel roster? Did they get pressured by different teams? And if so, does it not perhaps make a mockery of the parity process?? |

GTR, wouldn't the E70 been used only for the Saturday because that was what was agreed upon? To test their theories (whatever they are) the fuel would not have been needed to be used for more than a single race. |

I kinda wish they had not done this and let the Nissans fade back to their regular position even with the "jungle juice". I'm skeptical about the horsepower advantage, especially at Winton, but the result does stand out prouder than a honeymooner's dick. We'll just never know now, and the actions of the category management now fuel the conspiracy.

Nice.
Lets see the whingers whinge about a nice consistent rule that applies to everyone. About time the rules placed some more focus on strategy, as opposed to entertainment. |

I don't like it but it's probably the easiest way to clean up this debacle that's fair to everyone without resorting to alternate fuel blends which are going to cloud any results - but yeah, only this year please.

Story Here I think there is something being overlooked here, Mr McNamara is the GM of Holden Motorsport. Its his job to support as well as represent the 15 cars running the Holden brand in the main game. Like most in the paddock, it seems his views exist because of the farce of fuel selection and then de-selection at Winton. The purpose of the exercise for him is likely to create a lot of noise around the inequity of fuel being the parity solution of choice. And the politicking seems to have worked... as E70 isnt likely to grace another race track for the main game this year... an alternate solution has apparently been found... |

Why might it last only this year, Volvo + A.N.Other Brand may be on the grid next season, where are their parity concessions? 4 stops for Sandown is interesting, but the complaint in the beginning was that the Nissans and Erebus AMGs used more fuel than the other brands. So if they use more fuel, they will spend more time filling up at the stops, even though there are four for everyone at the Sandown race, and arguably are carrying more fuel than their Ford or Holden competitors, and will retain some level of disadvantage. Is there any further noise around possible fuel filler restrictors for the Holden and Ford teams, to make them slower...? |

Surely this rule change is all about putting the focus on entertainment as opposed to strategy....and the sporting element left well and truly behind. Do they have compulsory amount of pitstops at Le Mans? |

Wonder what happens when the 4 Nissans are the quickest down the 2 chutes at Sandown... and pass everyone in sight in a straight line.. will there be parity going on there too?

If Nissan or Erebus/AMG end up with superior performance, they will be slowed down.........parity is a one way street in this category.
