Wow, I hadn't heard that!
The TC2000 / Formula E course is pretty much impossible for TC cars, they can't handle tight hairpins or chicanes. |

They mention modifications, and the TC aren't that unwieldly, but even then the racing would be really compromized, ending either a crash fest or a parade (and probably both)
It's a weird choice. Also, TC: exists TC fan: that's gonna kil the TC!! |

Yesterday in the TV program Maxima Velocidad they interviewed Mauricio Lambiris, and he said that he is working to make Punta del Este a reality in 2023.

Meanwhile at the TC Cuyano (regional series in Mendoza, San Luis and San Juan), this happened at the last lap of last weekend's race:

Renault confirmed to continue on 2022 with Trotta Racing.
Landa will be driving the Torino again and it's spected that Benvenutti will also continue on the team. So, if everything turns ok, there will be 2 works teams next year, with Renault and Toyota. This weekend will be interesting in this aspect as Is the first race since the Toyota anouncement. |

Guillermo Ortelli, the 7 time TC champion, the most succesfull TC pilot racing today, could be retiring from racing at the end of the year.

A very impressive career. Too bad he's not well recognized outside racetracks.

Some heavy weeks in argentine racing.
Rossi "replacement" on the TGR STC2000 Corolla, 17 years old Barrio, won both FR 2.0 and TC2000 championships, this guy will be interesting to see. Also on the STC2000, Renault and Pernia denounced a difference of about 15 hp less on Pernia's Fluence. The series push to pass implementation sucks. Finally on TC Werner won again, the fans are still mourning the death of the TC, again... and Ortelli Is retiring and having a farewell race next year, but he's not actually decided yet, but confirmed as Canapino's team chief on the JP racing team, that still not confirmed Canapino, who Is still running his team and denied the JP move. Man, what a mess. Also the old guys (Castellanos, Mart?*nez, de Benedictis sr. Ortelli, etc) are happy for Toyota's arrival. Finally i watched the TCR South América race, man, all good but if old guy Tito Bessone (a genius, but a retired man running for fun) and Franetovich come and allready fight for victory, gives me some doubts about the piloting level of the series. |

The TCR South América is no Súper TC2000, that's for sure. Nice cars, but talent is scarce.

The designer Fernando Rotondi made a recreation of what the Toyota Camry of TC could look like.

Looks nice (for a Turismo Carretera car ).
Now I want to see modern versions of Ford, Chevrolet and Renault. |

Of the ones already in, Renault, also as of now, one of the two, with the newcomers Toyota, present as a works team, Is the one in problems, because of the Torino history. But they could go the Honda HSV-GT GT500 way, and make a Torino concept/halo design, afterall the series Is the one building the structures and managing the balance of the cars. In fact, thanks to that the TC could become a nice place for brands, maybe they'll need something more on the engine front, to acomodate more models, but seems, on paper, interesting |

They could use the Cherokee engine as the engine for new manufacturers, something like the NGTC engine in BTCC.

On the pickups it's more varied, Werner's Toyota runs with the Ford engine and afaik that engine isn't aproved for the Fiat Toro, and the frontiers and amarok used almost everything so idk whats the meta for that chasis Edit: if you wanna know why Werner's engine it's so strong, they're doing double duty with the pickups, in fact, i think the new engine Agut made for the TC Ford will debut on the Hilux, or that was the plan. Same could be said about Gianini strong form on TC the last years, the pickups doubled as an engine testing bench. Last edited by TuteZaek; 6 Nov 2021 at 13:40. |

Completly different concepts, the Alpine Is a compact mid engine car, while the Torino it's front engine rwd (the last Renault ever with that configuration).
If a Torino production/concept car it's ever made (and Is a big IF, kinda find life on the solar system big) should/could be based on a Nissan/Infinity rwd platform. For the TC only the shape Is needed (provided the rules continúe as is) |

On a non TC note, the Fórmula Renault 2.0 has only 14 cars this week, man, i wish the Crespi chasis turn this arround next season onward.
And Barrio is a monster. Next year should be interesting on the STC2000 |

Super TC 2000 weekend was a mess, the racing was ok-ish but both days ended with teams prostesting ans the results being modified after the race end, with the two championship leaders being penalized, Pernia on saturday and Canapino on sunday. Barrichelo was also penalized on sunday.
The TC pickups on the other side had somewhat better racing, with Wener winning (again, third race in a row, second on Viedma after last week TC victory) over Giannini that couldn't get a clean pass oportunity after chasing the Toyota during the full race. Both series will define their championships on the next race. |

Chevrolet with an official team in the Turismo Carretera and with the Camaro?
General Motors admitted that they watch "with great enthusiasm and attention" Toyota's entry into the popular category. “The competition is always positive. We are observing this with great enthusiasm and attention. The truth is, I believe that the entry of this new player is a possibility of renewal in the TC. I think the only thing it does is add, I don't think it takes away. Obviously, there are people who do not like it, but it is something that has happened many times in motorsport when there are some important changes ”, recognized Jorge Maiquez executive of General Motors and one of the managers of the Chevrolet team in the Super TC2000, in an interview with Campeones. https://www.automundo.com.ar/en/chev...J_jF-Pbgq-GJ9Y |
