eurosport commentators saying they don't think toyota are sandbagging at all. i really wonder where they've drawn that conclusion from.

I would believe into sandbagging if they were a second off but as it stands now it's more like 3-5 seconds. Does anybody seriously believe they're holding back that much all the time? So far they haven't done any sector times that would imply they can go much faster either. So if they`re sandbagging it sure is a masterful exercise. Problem is, they probably aren't. |

i'm pretty sure they are sandbagging. if they were 1 second off the pace of the audis, then i'd say they'd be on their real pace. the new cars were faster on all tracks than last year, toyota's new car was faster than the etron quattros of last year at spa, they can't suddenly be much slower at le mans. both audi and toyota are yet to have shown their true pace, in my opinion. but toyota can't be more than 2 seconds behind the audis, no way. i suspect a gap of 1 second, maybe 1.5.

I hope Toyota find some speed although from what RLM were saying they were using the first session to fine tune set-up. One car was being used to evaluate aero settings and the other mechanical settings(brakes, suspension.) Even with that you would think Toyota would be quicker than where they are now. It's worth remembering it's early days at the moment, as such I'm wagering Toyota will be a bit closer to Audi in subsequent sessions.

They have to be sandbagging; last year they hit 3:24 in qualifying, so there's no way they could be several seconds slower this year, with the improved car they have. Assuming it doesn't rain in qualifying tomorrow, hopefully we get some more representative lap times.

If they let Sarrazin really go for it Toyota may get as close as two seconds but I doubt they can't get any closer to Audi. |

As the only car with a Swede driving this year I'm rather bummed about what happened to the Krohn Ferrari. Any word on whether it's a total write-off or if they'll be able to repair it somehow?

If Krohn actually got rid of that hideous green color of his Ferrari, maybe he'd actually have some luck in this race.

That's a shame to hear the Greaves car is having problems. I almost had a heart attack when I checked on live timing and saw that note... luckily it looks like the 10 Tenths garage meeting is not yet in jeopardy! What happened to Tracy Krohn? I haven't been able to check in much today but did he wreck the car on his own or what? |
