My job title is Software Engineer but I don't do much of that anymore. Spend most of my time doing computer systems and network management and system integration (Windows, VMS and Irix).

My lot tried to get me to do the same sort of thing, and even to go on the 24hr support rota.

I said no.

Run own business as Learning & Development Consultant specialising in Management Development in Financial Services and Equity Release Projects for product providers.

Yes, I sometimes train the Call Centre folk who have ambitions to be elsewhere. Sadly some employers treat Call Centre workers as expendable and abusable cannon fodder!

Enjoy my work but its still nice to escape to motor sport.

I enjoy what I do now much more, and no chance of 24 hour support as I only work normal office hours on internal private networks. My customers all work the same hours as me on the same projects in the same offices.

Most of the time I am (fanfare!!!!) a Sculptor - working with scrap metal to create birds, dogs, flowers and anything else I can think of. Guess my trading name and where my website lives...

A bit of the time I do some paid marshalling. (And collect pieces for above).
