Also, there may be a legal point - I have worked with railway station CCTV before & once a recording is taken as legal evidence it can be used for that purpose only.
I wonder if stewards rules are based on similar principles? |

NASCAR only has on-board cameras in 8 (sometimes 9) cars, out of 43. F1 has cameras with links on 24 cars, but only 8 at a time are switched on (this is remote controlled). Indeed there isn't a series in the world where every car has a live on-board camera which is always on. Quote:
The licence to use the equipment is £90 per frequency per day to start with. Once you take into account the equipment hire, cabling, a crane to mount your receive antenna, staff to rig and operate it all, and insurance, then you are looking at figures in the tens of thousands of pounds per weekend just for a handful of cars. |

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but do you know when they two live races are expected to start (GMT is fine; I can convert)? I tried finding the TV timetable on BTCC's website but it only told me the start and end times of the entire coverage. Thanks!

There was a thread on the Photography section if I remember rightly about something similar.
The guy bought a special camera with a whole range of fittings. It'd be cool to get a bunch of those for a club meeting and record the race! |

I like Simon Hill in this role today. Louise Goodman is hopeless as ever. One complaint is that there are a lack of replays. When Shaun Hollamby retired from race two, we could have done with a replay to show him being shoved into Arthur Forster by James Nash, but instead all we got was Tim Harvey seeing the Golf on the grass and assuming he'd set it up with too much rear brake and span out.

So, now the online feed's gone down?
This is not good ITV, not good at all. Earlier we've had a disorganised programme of highlights, Louise Goodman muddling her words more than my dad after a stint at the pub, then whilst the Clio's were on in the background, ANOTHER interview with Tim Harvey. I am not a happy boy. |

Why didn't they show the Clio's and now we have tech problems.
I am not holding out much hope of seeing the BTCC rd 3 live on ITV |

I meant ITV.com but they missed the entire Clio race.
Contractual reasons? |

The Clio race started at 14:45, during numerous interviews with Marting Johnson, Tim Harvey etc, you could HEAR the Clio's starting in the background. The online wasn't even on at that time, the message was "coverage from Rockingham will start shortly" or something to that effect. |

Dunno what all the fuss is about. I didn't even think I'd see Race 3 of the BTCC, so I am a happy boy. An internet stream is better than watching it later in the highlights, in my view. And Alfa Fan, I noticed that ITV5 thing too. Maybe its just a temporary name that they give when only streaming stuff over the web? |

ITV need to do something about the cricket coverage as well. There seems to be a smudge on the top left corner of every camera lens.

The reason for this is British broadcasting rules. The Indian host broadcasters keep on bringing ads up there (I'm pretty sure IMG have sold the rights to sponsor every single blade of grass) that would be banned in the UK, so they blur them out.
