Day 4 at Misano - the times...

CHRISTIJAN ALBERS
Best lap: 1 min 10.800 secs, Total laps: 20

PASTOR MALDONADO
Best lap: 1 min 11.330 secs, Total laps: 22

Albers set the fastest time of the week, but then he has driven an F1 car before. Maldonado's time was very good considering his lack of experience.

Quote from Gian Carlo Minardi...
"Now we will work with these drivers, and hopefully, one of them will have a future in Formula One".

Ah, thanks. I was actually at Silverstone that day picking up my gearbox, I think, and wondered who was driving round trailing the throttle through the corners (and why)?

Some of these guys havce done relaly well considering their lack of F1 experience. Will Power has perhaps showed the most promise considering his lack of experience - given that he's an Aussie, his chances of being selected as at least test driver are surely high.

Depends on the driver's personal budgets I guess, though I imagine most of these drivers will get more tests in the future. The sad thing is that the slowest of all the drivers, Channock Nissany, is probably most likely to get more runs in the car in the future simply because he has the necessary budget...

The car Channock tested was apparently in 2005 configuration, which means a)it's slower than what the other guys tested, and b)he's more likely to be high in Paul's mind as a possible driver. Don't be surprised if he ends up in teh team next year? Does he race as Hungarian or an Israeli?

Meaning as a Friday tester? With respect, isn't he Jordan's answer to Sergey Zslobin? In his mid-to-late thirties and 4-5 seconds off the pace?

He can't be friday tester, you need a super license for that wich he will never qualify for.

I thought you could qualify for a superlicence if you got a thousand km of F1 testing or something??

According to Appendix L to the International Sporting Code (www.fia.com), the driver should either have had top results in one of the top series (like winning British F3, or top-3 in the final standings of Formula Nippon, or top-6 in the final standings of IRL), or:
"h): (exceptionally), has a record of results which is judged sufficient, unanimously, by the Bureau of the Formula One Commission and has driven at least 300km in a current F1 car at racing speeds, over a maximum period of 2 days, certified by the ASN of the country in which the test took place."

Out of the current top 15, Button, Alonso, Raikkonen and Pizzonia were able to enter F1 because of this exception rule, the rest of them did qualify for their Super License automatically because of their results.

So according to the regulations, it would be very hard to get a Super License ...

Nissany is an Isralei driver, he only lives in Hungary because of his business. He does not even speak Hungarian. Just to straighten things out. Oh one more thing, he is 40 years old and olny started racing 2 years ago :-). He is into the constraction business and is filthy rich.

Also according to RTL news, dutch broadcaster, Albers will join Minardi. Good for Dutch autosport. Albers is not my favourite racer and i won't buy any of his merchandising. Not a great personality either. Nevertheless, i,m glad for him, it is his dream coming true.

Monteiro, Baumgartner, Friesacher, Leinders, Kiesa, Bruni? One of these drivers, I expect.

Wonder who'll get both Jordan seats either. I can imagine KB's scenario become true. It will be the first time in history two dutchmen driving f1 in the same year.

If Albers deserves a ride then so does Paffett.
